Main purpose of the job

  • To develop academic material and lecture in allocated subjects for own and other programmes and to execute appropriate community projects.

Main tasks

1.       Teaching, Learning & Assessment 10-50%

2.       Student Evaluation 10%

3.       Research 10- 50%

4.       Administration 10- 15%

5.       Control and Organisation 10%

6.       Community Service & Marketing 10%

Subject fields

  • Financial Accounting III; Financial Reporting IV; Accounting Software; Cost and Management Accounting II and III

Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or Experience

  • A relevant Master’s-level degree i.e. M Tech / Masters / NQF 9 or equivalent and Professional Accountant SA registration with SAIPA

OR

  • Chartered Accountant South Africa: CASA registration with SAICA
  • At least two years’ teaching/lecturing/industry experience relevant to the subject fields

Desired Qualification, Knowledge and/or Experience

  • At least two 2 years’ relevant industry experience in an accounting practice
  • Evidence of a research output publication / presentation at a national conference
  • Evidence of progress towards a Doctorate degree will be an advantage
  • Proficiency in Pastel and CaseWare will be a recommendation
