Turnaround Qc Engineer

Role and Responsibilities 1. Check defects and corrosion by performing external and internal Inspections of plant equipment. 2. Ensure the integrity and compliance of facilities and plant equipment with applicable codes and engineering specifications and requirements during fabrication/manufacturing (procurement), installation/construction (projects) and in-service /shutdowns (operations). 3. Perform welding inspection for defects and ensure relevant procedures and welder's qualification and performance requirements are met to ensure quality. 4. Perform materials inspections, including non-metallic for defects, grades, tolerance and compatibility. 5. Use inspection tools such as callipers, micrometres, borescopes & pit gauges; Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods, including VT, PT, MPT, UT & RT. 6. Perform coating inspection, including surface preparation, holiday testing and assist in the applicator's certification review. 7. Review of ITP and witness hydrostatic, pneumatic and other testing. 8. Review of certification and condition of materials 9. Perform corrosion monitoring and inspection activities. 10. Perform evaluation and interpretation of inspection findings and NDT to determine defects and recommend remedies and repairs as required. 11. Assist in generating and drafting of inspection worksheets, recommendations and reports. 12. Update inspection records, log books and management systems to ensure inspection work and data are properly documented. 13. Perform QC inspection for new equipment fabrication and installation and/or for repairs and modification of existing equipment. 14. Inspect heat treatment, installation of hot taps, weld plus ends sleeves, pads and any welding required on process equipment while on service. 15. Inspect equipment for cleanness and safe entry prior to internal inspection during shutdown and turnaround. 16. Review inspection related procedures and engineering documents and assist in the training of entrylevel inspectors. 17. Reviews completion documentation. 18. Work with planners to implement inspection needs in jobs packages. 19. Perform any job-related activities as requested by the immediate supervisor/ manager.
