What You Will Do:
  • Data Exploration & Preparation: Harness data from internal and external sources, ensuring it is clean and formatted, ready for analysis. Uncover key patterns, trends, and relationships through exploratory data analysis.
  • Feature Engineering: Enhance model accuracy by crafting and selecting impactful features using advanced techniques.
  • Model Development & Experimentation: Choose and implement the best algorithms for each use case, continuously iterating to enhance design and functionality.
  • Model Testing & Validation: Establish rigorous testing methods to evaluate model performance and ensure reliability.
  • Model Documentation: Document every aspect of model development clearly and comprehensively, from data sourcing to final results.
  • Data Visualization & Storytelling: Develop visualisations and reports that clearly articulate complex analytical insights to stakeholders across various technical levels.
  • Agile Delivery: Engage in all phases of the agile development process, adapting quickly to evolving project requirements.
  • End-to-End Solution Design: Craft complete analytics solutions from data intake to deployment, ensuring seamless automation and efficiency.
  • Data Engineering Collaboration: Collaborate closely with data engineers to maintain data integrity and flow throughout analytical processes.
  • Automated Model Deployment: Work with IT to deploy models efficiently, integrating them smoothly into existing systems.
  • Real-Time Insights & Continuous Monitoring: Implement solutions for real-time data processing and continuously monitor system performance and data quality.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related quantitative field. Master's degree is advantageous.
  • Experience: We expect at least 3 years of proven experience in developing and deploying machine learning models within a professional environment. Additionally, you should have been involved in advanced analytics projects that demonstrably impacted business through data-driven insights.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Proficiency in Python or R, including experience with libraries like Pandas, NumPy, dplyr, and modelling packages such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and Keras.
    • Strong SQL skills are crucial, as is experience in querying and manipulating data in relational databases.
    • You should be adept at deploying models via APIs or in batch processes.
    • Experience with Alteryx or KNIME, and data visualisation tools like Tableau is highly desirable.
    • Familiarity with platforms like Cloudera Data Platform, Informatica, or Oracle Cloud EPM will be considered an advantage.
  • Analytical Skills: A deep understanding of statistical modelling, machine learning algorithms, including but not limited to Supervised and Unsupervised Learning, Regression, Classification, and Time-Series Forecasting. Experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP) is also highly valued.
  • Domain Understanding: Knowledge of the Insurance, Finance, or Actuarial sectors will be beneficial.
  • Agile Mindset: You should be versed in or willing to adapt to agile development environments.
  • Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical findings in a clear and actionable manner for non-technical audiences is essential.
