Key Responsibility Areas
- Conducts inspections, investigations, trial testing and research, commissioning and accepting new plant based on suitability and conformity of materials.
- Provides technical advice and controls the technical administration division of the HV Network Control Branch.
- Manages and monitors the performance and conduct and provides specialist support to HV Operations technical personnel.
- Implements procedures and systems to monitor and control maintenance work programmes.
- Controls specialised stock availability, setting measures to monitor storage.
- Communicate and initiates accident prevention programmes to improve understanding of workplace safety and capability to comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Verifies schedules, bills of quantities, tender documents and cost estimates prepared by technical personnel.
- Compiles project briefs for complex projects and programmes maintenance, construction and inspection based on criteria and requirements.
- Disseminates information on the professional aspects of Engineering design concepts and provides reports detailing interventions and outcomes.
- Co-ordinates record updating and reporting requirements on the functions/activities with the Branch.

Essential Requirements
- Bachelor of Technology or Bachelor of Engineering NQF Level 7 in Electronic or Electrical Light Current Engineering.
- Registration as a Professional Engineering Technologist with the Engineering Council of South Africa ECSA.
- Valid motor vehicle driving license.
- 5 Years relevant post registration experience in the Electricity Supply Industry.
