JWREmployment Specialists are delighted to be working with a growinginternational manufacturing company located in Castlebar, Co. Mayoto recruit a Health & SafetyCoordinator.

TheHealth & Safety Coordinator will be the primary point ofcontact for matters relating to the health and safety of employees.You ll be responsible for the consistent application of ourH&S policies, processes, and guidelines to ensure thecompany is fully compliant with all statutory requirements andobligations.

EssentialDuties and Responsibilitiesinclude;

Actas the H&S officer for the site. Driving a positiveEnvironmental, Health & Safety culture throughout thecompany.

Providesupport and guidance to employees with Health & Safetyqueries.

Developand update Health & Safety policies and procedures asnecessary.

Identifyand schedule new and on-going safety related training requirements,ensuring all mandatory training is reviewed and delivered ontime.

Managementof external cleaning contractors, pest control and serviceproviders.

Managementof Health & Safety induction of new employees, contractorsandvisitors.

Proactivelymanage investigation into accidents andincidents

Facilitateand lead EHS Meetings, encouraging participation from the EHSCommittee.

Conductmonthly Health & Safety site housekeeping inspections andcollate relevant data to produce regular reports onperformance.

Beresponsible for site ergonomic, VDU and risk assessments, and takecorrective measures to mitigaterisks.

Managethe development of employee health & wellbeing initiativesandprojects.

ManageKPI trends including waste management along with working on costsavingmeasures.

Responsiblefor fire drill operations and ensuring fire registers areupdated.

Provideexpert advice on use of PPE ensuring it is certified and fit forpurpose.

Investigate,record and report accidents, incidents promptly, ensuring anycorrective actions are implemented withoutdelay.

Ensuresafety standards and documentation of contractors/visitors are upto date and meet statutorylegislation.

Requirements

BScin Occupational Health and Safety or a relevantdiscipline.

5+years experience within a Health & Safety support role,ideally within a similar fast pacedenvironment.

Athorough knowledge of Health and Safety Law, practices, and theirapplication, with a proven track record in dealing with Health& Safetyissues.

Experience ofgeneral Health and Safety systems, programs and initiatives in amanufacturing setting would bebeneficial.

Ability toinvestigate problems and providesolutions.

Excellent organizational skills with keen attention todetail.

Strong IT proficiency and administrativeskills.

BSc in Occupational Health and Safety or a relevant discipline. 5+years experience within a Health & Safety support role, ideallywithin a similar fast paced environment. A thorough knowledge ofHealth and Safety Law, practices, and their application, with aproven track record in dealing with Health & Safety issues.Experience of general Health and Safety systems, programs andinitiatives in a manufacturing setting would be beneficial. Abilityto investigate problems and provide solutions. Excellentorganizational skills with keen attention to detail. Strong ITproficiency and administrative skills.
