Overview We are seeking a seasoned Data Engineer to significantlycontribute to the development of our database and data manipulationfunctionalities for the Archie Initiative Data Explorer Project(confidential). This role will also involve supporting research onenergy traceability and life cycle analysis. The ideal candidatewill have a strong background in data engineering databasemanagement and an interest or experience in energy andenvironmentalanalysis.

  • Designconstruct and maintain highly scalable databases tailored to theneeds of the Archie Initiative DataExplorer.
  • Implement robust data pipelines tofacilitate efficient data ingestion transformation anddissemination.
  • Collaborate closely with acrossdisciplinary team including data scientists analysts andstakeholders to understand data needs and deliver on projectgoals.
  • Develop and optimize database structuresdataprocessing algorithms and data output solutions to ensure dataintegrity and quality.
  • Support the team inconducting research on energy traceability and life cycle analysisproviding datadriven insights andrecommendations.
  • Document processes systems anddata flows to ensure reproducibility and facilitate knowledgesharing among the team.
  • Stay updated on thelatest industry trends technologies and best practices in dataengineering and relevant fields to continually improve our systemsand processes.

Minimum RequirementsBachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a relatedfield; Masters degree preferred but not required. 5 years ofprofessional experience in data engineering database administrationor a related role. Proficiency in SQL and experience with at leastone scripting language such as Python or Ruby. Experience with bigdata technologies like Hadoop Spark or similar frameworks is aplus. Knowledge of energy traceability and life cycle analysisconcepts is desirable. Strong problemsolving skills attention todetail and ability to work both independently and in collaborativeteam environments. Excellent communication skills with the abilityto convey complex technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.Must possess good work habits a strong work ethic and be able toadhere to company work hours policies and standard businessetiquette.
