Job Summary

We areseeking a geophysical application analyst to join GeophysicalApplications Division of Exploration Applications ServicesDepartment. The Geophysical Applications Division (GAD) coreresponsibilities include support of a large user base inExploration with wide range of geoscience applications technologiesand solutions spanning the whole upstream spectrum from Explorationto Development. As Oil and Gas exploration in Saudi Arabia hasmoved to higher levels of complexity and more challenging frontiersGAD is committed as ever to acquire and develop state of the arttechnologies and to hire the bestinclass geoscientists to meet thegrowing energy demand and achieving net zero emissions by 2060 asstrategized by the 2030 vision of Saudi Arabia. As a geoscientistworking in GAD you will be involved in developing workflows thatintegrates multidisciplinary upstream data utilizing mainstreamG&G software platforms such as AspenTechs Paradigm andSchlumbergers Omega among multiple other specialized software. Youwill work closely with exploration and development geophysicistsleveraging an indepth experience in industryleading Geophysicalsoftware to conduct advanced seismic processing inversion andimaging including rockphysics analysis.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Recommend and conduct studies on extending computingtechnology into profitable areas of Geophysical Processing andInterpretation technical activities.
  • Collaborate with Exploration customer representatives toidentify opportunities for computer assistance.
  • Prepare proposals for higher management regardingGeophysical Processing systems projects.
  • Endorse technical applications with a high degree ofoperational feasibility.
  • Initiate and conductcontinuous research into advanced systems concepts and latestdevelopments in techniques and applications related to GeophysicalProcessing systems.
  • Maintain close liaisonwith U.S. Company representatives to explore programming systemsdeveloped that may benefit This Company.
  • Participate in technical societies activities to stayupdated on advancements in Geological/Geophysical mapping modelingand data display techniques.
  • Provide advice oninternal department work procedures to enhance productivity andefficiency.
  • Apply best practices to foster acollaborative disciplined and wellgoverned workenvironment.

Requirements:

  • Willingness to relocate toDhahran Saudi Arabia.
  • Hold aBachelors degree in Geosciences High Performance Computing (HPC) ora related field. An MSc or PhD degree in geosciences isdesirable.
  • Possess extensive recent industryexperience working on geoscience projects studies andoperations.
  • Demonstrate intensive knowledge ina wide range of geological and geophysical disciplines includingexploration seismic processing inversion imaging rockphysics andother related disciplines. Specialization in specificsubdisciplines is advantageous.
  • Havemasterylevel knowledge and experience in GPU development includingporting high computeintensive geophysical algorithms (such as depthmigration) onto GPU architecture.
  • Possessexperience with seismic processing applications and HighPerformance Computing along with programming skills in C/C Fortranand Python. Additionally have expertise in GPU acceleration andUnix/Linux background.
  • Possess knowledge todeal with 2D and 3D seismic data conducting velocity models seismicattributes inversion spectral decomposition AVO AVA and bewellfamiliar with quantitative and prestack seismicimaging.
