Concrete Technologist

Job Summary
As a Concrete Technologist with 6to 7 years of experience you will be responsiblefor
overseeing the quality ofconcrete production and ensuring that it meets therequired
specifications for use inconstruction projects. You will also provide technical supportto
the concrete production teamand work closely with engineers and project managersto
ensure that the concrete issuitable for the intendeduse.

KeyResponsibilities
Ensure that theconcrete mix design is optimised to meet the requiredstrength
durability andworkability for the specificapplication.
Monitor the qualityof raw materials used in concrete production suchas
aggregates cement and water andensure they meet the requiredstandards.
Conduct tests onconcrete samples to ensure that they meet therequired
specifications forcompressive strength density air content and otherproperties.
Provide technicalsupport to the concrete production team and troubleshootany
problems that arise duringproduction.
Collaborate withengineers and project managers to ensure that theconcrete
meets the requiredspecifications for use in constructionprojects.
Develop and implementquality control procedures to ensure that theconcrete
production process isconsistent and meets the requiredstandards.
Keep uptodate with newtechnologies and developments in the concreteindustry
and make recommendationsfor improvements to the productionprocess.

Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelorsdegree in Civil Engineering Materials Science or a relatedfield.
7 years of experience inthe concrete industry with a strong understanding ofthe
production process and qualitycontrol procedures.
Experiencewith concrete mix design and testing and a thorough understandingof
the properties ofconcrete.
Strong analytical skillsand attention to detail with the ability to interprettechnical
data and identify trendsand patterns.
Excellentcommunication skills with the ability to explain technicalinformation to
nontechnicalstakeholders.
Experience withquality control procedures and the ability to implementthem
effectively.
Knowledgeof relevant regulations and industry standards related toconcrete
production.
Strongcomputer skills including experience with software for concrete mixdesign and testing.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, MaterialsScience, or a related field. 7 years of experience in the concreteindustry, with a strong understanding of the production process andquality control procedures. Experience with concrete mix design andtesting, and a thorough understanding of the properties ofconcrete. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, withthe ability to interpret technical data and identify trends andpatterns. Excellent communication skills, with the ability toexplain technical information to non-technical stakeholders.Experience with quality control procedures and the ability toimplement them effectively. Knowledge of relevant regulations andindustry standards related to concrete production. Strong computerskills, including experience with software for concrete mix designand testing.
