Responsibilities:

TechnicalLeadership

  • Identifyevaluate and recommend improvement needs for Safety Systems andFunctional Safety systems aspects.
  • Identifyevaluate and develop engineering Best Practices (BP) related toFunctional Safety and Safety Systems
  • Monitorthe market for new ideas innovations and identify novel solutionsfor life cycle management of FunctionalSafety.
  • Engage with key OEMs to address designissues affecting asset reliability and to maintain knowledge ofupcoming technologicalimprovements.
  • Lead/participate in FunctionalSafety Expert Group.
  • Lead technical globalinitiatives/project in his area ofexpertise.

Strategy andPlanning

  • Supportto develop and manage the Functional Safety annual and fiveyearwork plans with specific deliverables for this area ofexpertise.
  • Conduct regular Performance Killeranalysis based on actual production loss data and
    RCAs togenerate Resolution Plans (PKRP) that recommend specific actions tomitigate
    common failuremodes.

TechnicalSupport andEngagement

  • Providestechnical support to the Functional Safety and Safety SystemsExpert group.
  • Evaluate functional Safety andSafety Systems technologies and applications analysis
    andrecommend the best feasible Functional Safety technologies tosites.
  • Evaluate outputs of study compare withobserved behavior and offer resolution to Functional Safetyissues.
  • Provide technical support &consultation to resolve chronicfailures/issues.
  • Support Manufacturing intechnical audits/assessments/cold eye reviews andremaining
    life assessmentinitiatives.
  • Participate in failure analysisand support RCA of actual/potential incidents with C1/C2classifications.
  • Provide expert knowledge onsafety and reliabilityrelatedprograms

Knowledge andNetworkManagement

  • Leadinternal and participate in and/or lead external technical networksforums conferences and committees that have considerable FunctionalSafety content.
  • Manage the Functional SafetyExpert Group.
  • Assure the change management ofdeveloped Best Practices solutions andrecommendations.

CompetencyDevelopment Mentoring andCoaching

  • Developand deliver specialized quality training to manufacturingengineers.
  • Develop maintain and retaintopquality Functional Safety expertise through effective trainingmentoring andcoaching.

MustHaves:

  • MastersDegree in Engineering preferred with extendededucation and experience in the expertisearea.
  • ManufacturingExperience (Technical engineering MaintenanceManagement Reliability
    and ProjectManagement).
  • At least 15 years of experiencewith at least 7 years in Petrochemical and Oil andGas industry.
  • Global expert onFunctional Safety as demonstrated by significant accomplishmentsand contributions acquired over a period of a minimum 15 years(BS/MS).
  • Experience areas shall includecost/benefit analysistechnical designimplementation
    commissioningstartup maintenance sustainability trouble shooting failureanalyzing
    and overhaul dedicatedto Functional Safety systems withproven experience in project
    execution operation andmaintenance related to:
    Safety InstrumentedSystems
    Burner Management Systems
    Machinerysafety
    Emergency Shutdown Systems
    Fire and GasSystems
    Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA)systems
    Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
    Functional Safety Life cyclemanagement
