The Site WHS Officer will be responsible for partnering with a siteoperations team in a delivery station to execute company safetypolicies and ensure compliance to all applicable local and regionalregulations. By leveraging lean principles and kaizens you willlead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional andergonomic risk in our processes to ensure a safe and healthfulworking environment for our Associates. A successful Site WHSOfficer will demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidencewith the Operations Team and inspire change through providingcomprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis.
The Site WHS Officer must be an effective communicatorand send clear concise and consistent messages both verbally and inwriting. You will instruct and train Operations Leaders in AmazonWHS policies and assist the operations site teams in incorporatingour safety standards at their site. You will work to identify bestpractices and incorporate these standard methodologies into ourstandards to continuously improve the safety landscape.
Site WHS officer will possess excellent safety programknowledge as well as environmental and ergonomic knowledge and beable demonstrate this expertise when working with Operations.
The Site WHS officer will be a part of site WHS team andreports to site WHS manager. The WHS officer should be flexible towork in shifts.
Possess a thorough understanding oflocal/regional regulations and company policy.

Key job responsibilities
  • Provideguidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicableAmazon WHS standards/Policies.
  • Measure siteperformance against published requirements in safety policies. Forall deficiencies identify a plan for the site to implement and fixall identified deficiencies.
  • Deliver ontime andquality projects to Operations.
  • Analyze safetymetrics and review incident weekly and monthly incident trends todiscover trends to rationalize the allocation of appropriateresources to areas where the safety risk ishighest.
  • Ensure proper Incident Investigationand closure of Corrective action and preventiveaction.
  • Perform frequent site safety audits toidentify all noncompliance equipment and/or processes at thesite.
  • Implement solutions to eliminate exposureto these risks and prevent injury.
  • Auditrecordkeeping practices and ensure Austin entries to be alignedwith global WHS standards and localregulations.
  • Audit the workplace organizationand Associate behaviors to ensure that training auditing andscoring methods are accurate andconsistent.
  • Lead and mentor Safety Associatesin your assigned facility during peak.
  • Spendtime at the delivery station and seek input from Safety teamsAssociates and leaders on safety program improvement opportunities.Ensure open communication on status of progress and resolutionagainst these suggestions.
  • Ensure siteleadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable of theirresponsibilities under each policy. Audit the quality delivery(including qualifications of the trainer) and effectiveness of allrequired safety training.
  • Ensure the PPEsinventory at site and coordinate with procurement will place orderaccordingly.
  • Ensure site PPEcompliance.
  • You have to implement the bestpractices at site.
  • Implement PIT (poweredindustrial truck) safety and yard safetysystem.
  • Ensure standard Work Permit Systemusage at site.
  • Implement and ensure safecontractor management at site.
  • Ensure basicsafety training calendar for associates and imparting trainings asper the same.
  • Work along with facility team andensure preventive maintenance of all Fire protection and emergencyequipments
  • Ensure basic Fire Fighting trainingand first aid training requirements.

  • Experienced in emergency response andcurrently holds First aid and CPRcertificates.
