Job Description


What you will be doing:

Reporting

1.1.1 Assist Director of Finance with in the preparation of all reporting requirements regardless of reporting frequency including daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc.

1.1.2Ensure information presented in all reports is accurate and reflective of actual business transactions.

1.1.3Ensure all reports are prepared on a timely basis, meeting all deadlines set by Statutory Bodies, Owning Company and Brand Manager.

Controls

1.1.4Conduct surprise spot-checks on General Cashier’s float on a periodic basis.

1.1.5Conduct surprise spot-checks on all Outlet Cashier’s float on a periodic basis in addition to spot-check performed by the General Cashier.

1.1.6Conduct surprise stock-count inspection in addition to/ during the month-end stock-count conducted by the Cost Controller’s office.

Audit, Taxation and Statutory Bodies (where applicable)

1.1.7Assist in the preparation of all groundwork required for all statutory audit and tax requirements.

1.1.8Provide assistance during the audit (internal and external) review process.

1.1.9Administer all tax filing and government reporting procedures to ensure accurate, timely information is provided in compliance with laws and regulations.

Budget & Forecast

1.1.10Assist the Financial Controller in the preparation of the annual budgets and monthly forecasts as required.

Sectional Duties

1.1.11Supervises Revenue Audit section:

1.1.12Ensures all revenue and receipt transactions are properly accounted for and deposited into banks.

1.1.13Reviews summaries, reports and journals prepared by Revenue Auditor and Night Auditor.

1.1.14Checks Daily Hotel Revenue Report.

1.1.15Supervises Accounts Payable section:

1.1.16Oversees timely arrangements of payments by cheques, bank auto pays & remittances.

1.1.17Ensures payments are properly supported & authorized.

1.1.18Reviews cheque register, vendor listing, creditors log and reports.

1.1.19Supervises Payroll section:

1.1.20Checks if monthly payroll is properly supported authorized and reconciled.

1.1.21Ensures personnel data are correctly recorded in payroll record.

1.1.22Oversees the submissions of employers’ tax returns required by statutes.

1.1.23Reviews schedules of lease and sub-lease agreements.

1.1.24Monitoring the billing of lease charges and collection of sub-rentals.

1.1.25Reports and follows up discrepancies and irregularities.

1.1.26Reviews monthly capital expenditure reports.

1.1.27Reports to DOF on any deviations from policies.

1.1.28Ensures capital expenditure reports completed in accordance with set schedule.


Qualifications


Minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in 5* hotel or similar. Bachelors in Finance Degree or higher, Finance certifications will be a plus. Experience in the GCC and/or Middle East Region is a plus. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required. Knowledge and experience in IFRS is an advantgae
