Position Overview

Based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, we are currently seeking a:

R&D Application Specialist

(Riyadh)

Assist the R&D Manager in product development for filling (50%) as well as conducting daily analytical testing of products (RM & FG) to develop QC spec parameters and analysing micro-safety results of outside laboratory (20%). Support cross functional team and manage product cutting, sensory evaluation, and reformulation of current products (15%). Execute and manage the pre-requisites and implementation of the food quality systems “HACCP & ISO22000” (15%).

Key Tasks

Supporting and assisting the R&D Manager in new product development. Evaluating current and alternative food ingredients. Supporting products’ innovation. Running applications and baking tests for finished goods in R&D lab. Supporting production team in recipes line adaptations and new products commissioning. Executing product recipe and conduct sensory evaluation of NPD. Participating on cross functional teams to ensure effective resolution of technical issues. Evaluating current and alternative food ingredients and products used in the development and production of finished goods; to maintain compliance with specifications and standards that have been established during the test and trial period of new products. Responsible for the sample preparation for customers & internal technical validation. Provide necessary technical information on products to customers. Execute lab QA tests for all incoming raw material & finished goods in QC lab. Execute spontaneous line quality checks. Analysing quality concerns identified via product inspection and from field service operations while coordinating and producing daily, weekly and monthly quality control reports. Implementing the set quality policies and standards. Verify and validate implementation of quality and food safety manual. Prepare Technical Data Sheets. Monitor supplier performance and quality / food safety performance. Visit the customers when needed to test the fillings (samples) together in order to know and understand more their requirements

Job Profile

2-5 years of R&D experience, preferably from F&B manufacturing industry. Bachelor degree in food science or related field. Fluent in English and Arabic. Analytical with very good communication/commercial skills. Has a strong knowledge and/or interest for food ingredients and applications.

Competencies

Should have good planning and organizational skills. Should have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. Should be multitasking, and able to perform under stress and meet deadlines. Should have analytical skills to properly manage the department’s data.
