What You'll Be Doing:

Carry out port state control inspections by the Maritime Authority of the port state and acts under its responsibility.

Provide good code of practice guidelines in regard of standards of integrity, professionalism and transparency.

Executes vessel inspections as prescribed by Saudi PSC and international regulations.

Accountable for providing responses to internal and third-party audits and inspections including Rightship and PSC. 

Review of SMS safety related documentations.

Liaises with the Coast Guard, Port Operator and Port Authority, provide assistance and support to sea staff with alignment of marine requirements, guidance on human factors, standards and polices contributing towards safety and environmental protection.

To promote and manage the vessel’s health, safety and environmental compliance.

To ensure that the vessels are able to perform their voyages and operations.

To arrange and manage audits and inspections required by the recognized organization (RO) – ISM, ISPS and MLC.

To arrange and manage vetting inspections to ships calling at JCPDI Port.

To oversee the vessel’s navigational matters, including approval of passage plan and conduct navigation audits.

To ensure compliance with terminal operator, oil terminals and charterers’ requirements.

To liaise with and manage matters in relation to Flag State and Port State.

To advise on changes to regulations, requirements and industry best practices.

To provide support, training and enforcement in respect of crew competency and discipline.

To provide support in relation to quarries regarding vessels’ capabilities and performances.

Member of company’s emergency response team.

Attend to projects and tasks as assigned.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

Candidate should have Seagoing Experience as a Master (at least CoC class 1 to 2), and at least 2 years of shore experience in relation to safety, health and environment management and maritime compliance.

Familiar with international IMO and local maritime regulations and requirements.

Strong sense of integrity and professionalism.

Candidate should be versed in SOLAS and MARPOL.

Excellent leadership, teamwork, management, communication skills and ability to interface with the staff at all levels

Ability to motivate and inspire people.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

Basic knowledge of local and international marine and regulations.

Good English language skills including reading, writing and speaking.

Computer literate with experience using MS Office packages (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access and Power Point Presentation).
