Project Description:

Saudi Arabian Bechtel Company will provide project management consultancy services (including technical, commercial and construction management) for the development of certain defined aspects of the NEOM Infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.” 

NEOM is a planned cross-border city in the Tabuk Province of northwestern Saudi Arabia. The site is near the Red Sea and the borders of Egypt, Israel and Jordan. It will cover a total area of 26,500 km2 (10,200 sq mi) and will extend 460 km along the coast of the Red Sea.”

NEOM will be the home and workplace to more than a million residents from around the world. It will include towns and cities, ports and enterprise zones, research centers, sports and entertainment venues, and tourist destinations. As a hub for innovation, entrepreneurs, business leaders and companies will come to research, incubate and commercialize new technologies and enterprises in groundbreaking ways.

Summary:

This position reports to the Site Logistics Manager for a specific geographical area which includes oversight of the logistics operations of multiple construction contractors. Construction site based with regular interactions with contractors’ logistics operations

Job Dimensions:

Ensures safety requirements and measures are integrated in all logistics activities, procedures, and goals Reviews contractor submissions for Site Logistics and Traffic Management Plans against the strategic objectives of the relevant areas or materials Implements the strategic logistics requirements across multiple contractor sites through effective management of contractor compliance with their approved Logistics Plans and Traffic Management Plans Takes mitigation action where there is contractor non-compliance against their Logistics Plan or Traffic Management Plan or where the approved plan is not effective under the conditions Understands the overall site logistics requirements for each contractor and facilitates coordination between contractors Provides daily reports on contractor activities, safety concerns, non compliances and mitigating actions taken Monitors the movement of people, construction materials, waste and other products within the area assigned and coordinates with similar staff positions in adjacent areas Provides continuous improvement on logistics planning and effective implementation through proactive dialogue with contractors and with management

Qualifications/Experience

Essential Technical Skills:

Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business or Supply Chain Management, Logistics or other related business field. Minimum 10 years experience of logistics operations in a contractor role or in a PMC role Understanding of logistics strategies and master planning Understanding in the formation and administration of Logistics Service Agreements Understanding in commercial logistics budget development and closeout Knowledge of business administration procedures, tools, techniques, and business ethics

Essential Behavioral Skills:

Skill in working and informing effectively, both orally and in writing, with other project functional groups. Resolving issues within T&L and with other departments

Preferred Technical Skills:

Team representative in logistics discussions with third parties. Exposure to activities associated with logistics hub (port, marshaling center or similar).

Preferred Behavioral Skills / Experience:

Initiative to participate successfully in development of logistic strategies.
