Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Ecologist to join our project team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise, with a strong field background, in more than one field of specialisation: avifauna, botany, wildlife management, herpetofauna, GIS, and biodiversity risk assessment
  • Ecological monitoring, involving the design and implementation of monitoring programs, surveys for threatened species, and running long-term monitoring projects
  • Lead the development of ecology scope including fieldwork plans, reporting (Construction Environmental Management Plan or CEMP covering detailed ecology assessment, mitigation measures, and monitoring), as well as permitting, authorizations, and approvals
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively engage clients through impactful presentations and adeptness in crafting articulate written reports
  • Capability to articulate technical information cogently, both in written and oral formats, with a keen emphasis on clarity and professionalism, underscoring robust technical writing abilities

Essential Skills:

  • Degree in relevant subjects (Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, or similar) with further post-graduate education desirable (e.g. Masters degree), along with demonstrated work experience within the field
  • Minimum 12 years of demonstrated ecological consultation and/or ecological management experience, with weighted consideration for terrestrial ecology and vegetation/flora expertise
  • 6-8 years of ecology experience in KSA/ projects in KSA. Proven knowledge and application of KSA-centric ecology and biodiversity guidelines, regulations and objectives
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively
  • Entrepreneurial outlook and self-driven motivation
  • Committed to technical excellence and pragmatic problem-solving
  • Strong relationship-building skills for internal and external collaboration
