Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented
CAD / BIM Engineer to join our team in NEOM.

Parsons is providing Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services for the development of NEOM Infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

NEOM is a planned cross-border city in the Tabuk Province of northwestern Saudi Arabia. The site is near the Red Sea and the borders of Egypt, Israel, and Jordan.

It will cover a total area of 26,500 km2 (10,200 sq mi) and will extend 460 km along the coast of the Red Sea.

The BIM Engineer will act as a project team member, interacting with project owners, architects, engineers, contractors and subcontractors to develop and analyze the virtual construction process in order to maximize construction efficiency, job cost savings, as well as enhance project documentation & delivery.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Able to perform all BIM Engineer responsibilities.
  • Preparing BIM Guidelines for project specific requirements
  • Training of project personnel in the use of BIM tools
  • Planning and scheduling, assist in cost report setup and forecasting, issue change orders, notices and revisions.
Create and Maintain BIM Models for Project Specific Requirements:

  • Develop schematic and detailed level models including modeling structure, interior and exterior architectural elements, and MEP systems (as applicable)
  • Identify conflicts, incomplete or ambiguous design information.
  • Coordinate with BIM service providers and Subcontractors
  • Create new library components.
  • Responsible as "Model Administrator" for assigned projects.
  • Assist BIM Manager to compile contract BIM close out documentation.

Manage Model Change Control:

  • Develop models to illustrate contractor questions and solutions.
  • Update asbuilt and revised Building Information Model
  • Keep BIM revision log.
  • Distribute new and revised models showing changes and RFI answers.
  • Derive material quantities.

Quantity Take-off:

  • Produce quantity reports per Client requirements.

4D Schedules:

  • Develop the modeling schedule.
  • Prepare 4D simulations.
  • Identify long lead items and integrate them into 4D simulations.

Trade Coordination:

  • Define scopes of work, evaluate engineering problems and issue RFIs.
  • Liaising with trade contractors.
  • Update and distribute documents and models to contractors and maintain control logs (as applicable).
  • Prepare and maintain submittal logs and expediting log for BIM models.
  • Attend and /or manage model coordination meetings and document project preconstruction / BIM meetings (write minutes).
  • Coordinate models with internal and contractor detailers and modellers
  • Record coordination sign offs.
  • Review and approve shop drawing level models from contractor.

What Required Skills You'll Bring

  • A degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years project experience, with duties as a lead coordinator Engineer, or equivalent.
  • Must be able to demonstrate an intermediate to advanced level of knowledge and understanding of construction methods, processes, and systems.
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of common construction terminology and nomenclature as well as various building types and systems.
  • Ability to read and understand plans, specifications and BIM modeling.
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal English language communication skills.
  • Ability to use judgment, problem Solving ability, selfstarting and ability to prioritize based on relevant factors.
