The Board is seeking a Head of School, who will play a strategic role in the development of the school.

This position would be suitable for an inspirational and innovative leader who can secure the full engagement of staff and all other stakeholders in the delivery of the school's strategic and operational aims.

The Head will:

  • Provide outstanding leadership for and of the entire school community, remaining highly visible and living and breathing the school's Guiding Statements at all times.
  • Lead a collaborative, cohesive and effective Senior Management Team (SMT), and maintain a strong and positive relationship with all staff.
  • Supervise and mentor each member of the SMT, in order that they can flourish and thrive within and beyond the confines of their role.
  • Secure and maintain the outstanding reputation of the school, and promote and protect its interests
  • Serve as a positive leader for the school, and engage proactively and sustainedly with both the local and international communities.
  • Ensure regular and effective communication within, throughout and beyond the school community.
  • Ensure compliance with the requirements both of Saudi Arabia law and of all relevant accreditation bodies.
  • Be ultimately responsible for the safeguarding and protection of all children and young people at the school, and for the health and safety of the entire school community.
  • Understand and welcome the role of effective governance, upholding their obligation to give account and accept responsibility to the Board of Governors.
  • In partnership with the Chair and the Governing Body, set the overall strategic aims and objectives for the school, communicating high expectations and ensuring challenging targets are embraced at all levels.
  • Lead the review, communication, and implementation of the School Development Plan, ensuring that it feeds and is fed by the School Improvement Plan from the Prep and Grammar School.
  • Oversee a successful leadership and learning culture and climate in which all staff are able to carry out their roles effectively and enjoy coming to work.
  • Recruit and retain staff of the highest quality available, and ensure their effective and efficient deployment in the interests of the learning and wellbeing of all students.
  • Promote the continuous, professional learning and development of all staff, in alignment with the strategic direction of the school and in order to cater for the needs of a diverse and inclusive pupil body.
  • Secure and maintain the school's financial stability and ensure the effective and efficient management of the school's finances.
  • Ensure that positive learning and wellbeing are at the heart of all strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Ensure that the school is at the cutting edge of best educational policy, pedagogy and practice globally in a rapidly changing world, including the effective use of new, emerging and developing learning technologies.
  • Ensure the best possible wellbeing and learning outcomes for all students, as part of an inclusive and diverse community.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of a diverse, dynamic and inclusive curriculum
  • Ensure that effective strategies are in place, closely monitored and reviewed, to identify any marginalised pupils and groups and ensure that their needs are centered.
Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong academic track record to degree level
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Commitment to their own professional learning and development
  • Proven track record in senior leadership as a Head with experience in both Prep and Grammar School
  • An understanding of current UK and international education policies, curriculum developments and the statutory and legal framework within which a community school operates
  • An understanding of coaching and how to build a coaching culture
  • Detailed and uptodate knowledge of best policy and practice in terms of safeguarding and child protection, both in the UK and internationally
  • A thorough understanding of the potential of developing, new and emerging technologies to enrich every aspect of the school
  • An understanding of the ingredients of effective Early Years, Primary and Secondary education
  • An appreciation of the context from which the school community draws its students
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to plan for the short, medium
