The Technical Support/ Construction Coordination role on the project is focused on the 900-seat Auditorium and 1000-cover Great Hall areas of the development and is key to ensuring that all engineering, specialist fit-out & interior aspects of the contractor's submissions, shop drawings, and interdisciplinary coordination processes are dealt with in line with the construction programme and specifications.

The successful candidate will report both to the Client's Representative and the Buro Happold Project Director.

The successful candidate will have excellent technical and communication skills, have a minimum of 15 years' post-graduate construction experience, of which a minimum of 5 years should be demonstrable in the Middle East and/or the design and delivery of similar technical facilities.

This experience should include the integration and installation of the following aspects of auditorium and hospitality area facilities:

  • Stage machinery
  • Room acoustics, sound isolation, noise & vibration control
  • Sound and communication systems
  • Lighting, video, and projection systems
  • Seating and Architectural Finishes

Responsibilities:

  • Assist SAPMT to monitor Contractor & Specialist Sub Contractor progress
  • Provide support to SAPMT and site engineering inspectors to ensure technical compliance with the approved contract specifications, working practices, and drawings
  • Liaise where necessary with & prepare submissions for other Saudi Aramco departments involved in the supervision of the project, including Loss Prevention, Consultancy Services, and Quality Control
  • Liaise with SAPMT and the on and off site architectural teams to assist with the planning, coordination and construction of the architectural finishes.
  • Liaise with SAPMT and Buro Happold discipline leads to assist with the planning, coordination and execution of building services works

Essential Experience

  • Typically 15+ year's relevant industry experience of a technical role, within either a contractor or engineering consultancy.
  • The applicant will need to have strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • A team player able to provide leadership to colleagues in other disciplines.
  • Applicant will require high levels of patience when dealing with the many interested parties within Saudi Aramco.
Desirable Experience

  • Ideally, the candidate will also have considerable experience of working on multidisciplinary construction projects.
  • Experience in the Middle East, especially in Saudi Arabia is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Experience of both design and construction will be an advantage.
  • Experience of multi-discipline project management
Qualifications

  • Chartered professional or equivalent with a relevant institution.
  • Bachelors degree (BEng / BSc) or Masters degree (MEng / MSc) in an appropriate discipline

The centre will offer a world-class museum, public library, historical archives, children's educational centre, performance facilities, and more. KACWC has been designed by Snohetta Architects and Buro Happold working in partnership with Saudi Aramco.


Buro Happold are currently engaged in providing technical services to the Saudi Aramco Project Management Team (SAPMT) during the construction phase of project within a team based on site.

These services include all engineering disciplines plus interior architecture.

Saudi Aramco have requested Buro Happold to identify an experienced construction professional familiar with the detailing, construction and finishing of performance facilities, to join the site base
