His/her responsibility is the interpretation of preliminary diagnostic studies, consultation with clinicians of other services, performance of vascular and interventional procedures and delivery of both short and long-term follow-up care.

Radiology services are provided in Dhahran Health Center. Plain film reporting for Al Hasa, Ras Tanura and Abqaiq is also done at Dhahran Health Center via Teleradiology. The total examinations performed annually approximate 150,000. The service includes: plain films, fluoroscopy, GI studies, angiography, invasive procedures, CT, ultrasound, MRI and nuclear medicine. Administrative support is provided by the Chief Radiologist. Professional supervision and monitoring is performed through a structured Quality Improvement Program, encompassing peer review and conferences.

Principal contacts are within JHAH including: referring physicians, radiology staff, other hospital staff and direct patient contact during the performance of imaging examinations. Daily contacts are made as consultations to ensure a high standard of medical care and to fulfill the Mission and vision of JHAH.

Examples of vascular procedures include but are not limited to arteriography, venography, angioplasty and related percutaneous revascularization procedures, embolotherapy, transcatheter infusion therapy, intravascular foreign body removal, and percutaneous placement of endovascular prostheses such as stent grafts, inferior vena cava filters and insertion of vascular access devices and catheters. Examples

of nonvascular procedures include, but are not limited to, percutaneous imaging guided biopsy, percutaneous gastrostomy, percutaneous nephrostomy, ureteral stenting, percutaneous transhepatic biliary procedures, percutaneous drainage for diagnosis and treatment of fluid collections, and miscellaneous percutaneous imaging guided procedures such as ablation of neoplasm and cysts. He/she works under the professional supervision of the Chief of Radiology and within the clinical privileges approved by the Credentials and Privileges Committee.

The Invasive Radiologist is also required to:

1. Participate in the performance and interpretation of general radiology imaging procedures as needed.

2. Participate in the Interventional on-call after working hours, weekends and holidays.

3. Participate in general radiology on-call after working hours, weekends and holidays.

4. Contribute to administrative duties as requested by the Chief of Radiology Services Division. This includes:

• Participation in quality improvement programs.
• Participate actively in Division conferences, rounds and educational activities.
• Supervise radiology technologists and ancillary personnel.

• Four years of post-graduate residency training in Diagnostic Radiology in a recognized training program.
• One year of Fellowship training or at least two years of practice in Vascular and Interventional Radiology in a recognized training program/institution.

• Good command of oral and written English.
• Must have the ability to adjust to group practice in an industrial environment involving an understanding of corporate organization, personnel administration.
• Must be able to work with a positive attitude with colleagues of varying training background.
• Capable of seeking solutions.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of medical ethics.
