  • Reports to the Airfield Support Services (AFSS) Division Manager and provides program and training oversight for the overall BDE Aviation training program. Primary mentor for the BDE S5 Standardization Department. Performs duties as a Senior Flight Instructor/Examiner in the AH64E, UH60M, AH6i, or MD530 Series Aircraft and associated simulation device(s). Conduct qualification, refresher, readiness level, mission, continuation training and evaluation of VA, OPM, and MNG pilots in accordance with US Army Aviation Aircrew Training Manual (ATM) requirements or approved Saudi Arabian National Guard/Ministry of National Guard publications (FTG's, AR's, TC's, etc.) as applicable. Conducts academic and handson performance training and administers evaluations to ensure pilot proficiency and standardization of training across the BDE program. Responsible for maintaining Contractor Training Records (CTR) to include completing required training, currency, and readiness entries for both VA and MNG crewmembers. Conducts ground school instruction in a classroom environment, providing basic instrument instruction in the aircraft and flight training device(s), and performing flight training duties in contact, instrument, and combat skills training to U.S. Army standards or MNG-AVN IAW government approved DATM, FTG, and POI requirements. Instruction may include any combination of individual or group instruction in an academic classroom environment, aircraft, or simulator.

  • 1. Manages the Contractor's flight training program for all assigned crewmembers to include contractor training records management, annual evaluations, and performance reviews.
  • Provide mentorship and recommendations to the customer on all Aircrew Training Program (ATP) issues.
  • Senior advisor to the Brigade Commander and Staff on all flight training standardization issues.
  • Makes customer recommendations for the implementation of standardization policies across the aviation brigade.
  • Provides comprehensive feedback and updates to the Airfield Support Services (AFSS) Division Manager, addressing ongoing issues that impact the aviation training program deliverables.
  • Assist in the development of strategic plans for short
- and long-term aviation flight training.

  • Supervise and mentor subordinate managers within Standardization Department.

Train and evaluate Aviation pilots in assigned Aircraft, conduct initial Aircraft Qualification Course (AQC) training in accordance with the approved DATM and specific unit ATP guidelines.

9. 9. Develop or update Aviation Aircrew Training Program, appropriate MNG-AVN related manuals, CMP and POI in accordance with customer guidance.

  • Verify and confirm that all required flight training publications are current and complete.
  • Conduct and evaluate individual readiness level progression tasks, to include instrument flight tasks, during day, night, NVD and night vision goggle (NVG), and instrument flight rules (IFR).
  • Prepare pilots through realistic mission training flight maneuvers under local environmental conditions to include dust landings, and weather specific desert training.
  • Provide aircrew proficiency training in Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC) in and outside controlled airspace under General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA)rules.
  • Attends meetings as required with Customers.
  • Recommend aviation Standardization Instructor Pilot, Instructor Pilot, and Pilot in Command appointments to customer leadership.
  • Responsible for providing direct interface and daily status reports as required between staff for training status, mission assignments, mission planning, and crew status.
  • Assist in Functional Check Flights as required as directed by MNG counterparts.
  • Able to perform duties in a culturally sensitive environment and maintain a professional approach, attitude, and appearance at all times.

Independence:
Reports to the Airfield Support Services (AFSS) Division Manager. Performs within the broad guidelines of duties and responsibilities with significant choice of methods. Authority to select and implement goals and objectives within the execution of duties and responsibilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Report directly to the Airfield Support Services (AFSS) Division Manager. Supervise and manage all flight and non-flight training related functions.
