Qualifications:

-
Essential:

  • A recognized Degree/Diploma/Trade Certificate and experience in an Electrical Trade.

Desirable:

  • Medium Voltage Switching Certificate

Experience:

-
Essential:

  • Minimum 5 years (combined) relevant experience in maintaining fixed plant.
  • Experience in High Voltage 13.8kV distribution systems
  • High Voltage 13.8kV Operator certificate
  • Experience in HV13.8kV wound rotor motors and starting equipment
  • LRSs
  • Experience in VSDs and Soft motor starters fault finding and commissioning
  • Experience in cabling and terminations and HV 13.8kV cables termination & splicing
  • Experience in the maintenance of industrial production /mineral processing equipment.

Essential:

  • Identify Work
  • Perform area walkdowns/inspections/PMs.
  • Identify adhoc work requirements and report to Supervisor/Senior Supervisor.
  • Advise Maintenance Supervisor/Senior Supervisor of concerns in relation to unreliable equipment.
  • Understand maintenance and parts manuals to identify parts required for the task allocated.
  • Read and understand drawings.
  • Understand and use precision measuring and testing equipment.
  • Plan work
  • As requested, identify spares and tools required for breakdown work.
  • Provide work order planning information to Supervisor/Senior Supervisor
  • Plan breakdown jobs (parts, tools, procedures etc.)
  • Schedule Work
  • Provide input to' the weekly schedule
  • Execute Work
  • Implement maintenance schedule as directed by supervisor
  • Provide feedback on job progress
  • Complete Work
  • Complete post job tasks clean up, return spares etc
  • Provide feedback on work identified and performed by entries in shift logs, work orders
  • Complete job documentation ensuring an accurate record of work performed, time taken, spares used etc
