IIE Varsity College: Emerging Scholars' Internship Programme 2023

The IIE Varsity College is implementing the Emerging Scholars Programme. The aim of this advertisement is to recruit candidates that have a passion for pursuing a career in academia and to improve the equity profile of the IIE, which constitutes an important aspect of the business.

The IIE Varsity College invites applicants with a Bachelors, Honours and/ or a Master's degree or who are currently enrolled or plan to enroll for an Honours, Masters or PhD degree and who are from under-represented designated groups to apply for positions in the departments listed below.

Departments:

  • School of Education
  • School of Engineering
  • School of Finance and Accounting
  • School of Humanities& Social Sciences
  • School of Law
  • School of Management
  • School of IT

Responsibilities:

The incumbents will be required to:

  • Participate in a formal development programme aimed at strengthening their aspirations and skills as researchers and lecturers;
  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses;
  • Administration responsibilities in their departments.

Requirements:

  • An Honours or Master's degree in relevant discipline;
  • Illustrate the potential to become a competent lecturer at the undergraduate level;
  • Illustrate strong potential to become an established researcher.

Advantageous:

  • Good communication skills
  • Leadership potential
  • One year teaching/tutoring and research experience at undergraduate/postgraduate levels (lecturer) would be an advantage.
