What we need from you:

  • Develops and implements departmental strategies which support the hotel long term business plan.
  • Assists in the development of the annual budget and business plan focusing actions to influence standards and profitability.
  • Analysis department performance against targets costs and proactively action any deviation from the target.
  • Achieves product quality standards in hygiene, sanitation and cleanliness in all areas of responsibility.
  • Achieves human resources management standards that meet or exceed the service quality standard whilst maintaining payroll cost targets for the department
  • Ensures that the department is effectively staffed, trained and motivated to deliver consistent high levels of guest service and ensure that regular job skills training is undertaken.
  • Ensures that department staff appraisals are carried out twice per year to review performance and plan necessary training.
  • Adheres to Company policy, procedures and reports on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Prepares and identifies the housekeeping components of the hotel's five year and annual Capex plan.
  • Builds effective relationships with local community and suppliers to create optimal business opportunities.
  • Maintains inventories at mínimal levels and recommends housekeeping projects with a clear cost / benefit analysis and environmental awareness.
  • Ensures that safe working practices are implemented and that an effect Risk Management procedure is in place with staff being fully trained accordingly.
  • Selects new housekeeping employees who meet or exceed position specifications in accordance with Company policy.
  • Maintains control of keys, and other hotels assets which fall under the areas of responsibility.
  • Supervises outside contractors to ensure security and contractual compliance.
  • Conducts regular departmental meetings.
