Job Description Core Purpose of Job:

- To ensure smooth functioning of SAP Application and Servers by implementing R/3 upgrades, Kernel Patches, OSS Notes, LCP releases and Hot Packages and by

- To ensure optimal performance of SAP applications by monitoring and troubleshooting problems and fine tuning SAP

- To ensure continuity of business transactions in SAP R/3 by maintaining SAP DR System

- To ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of SAP R/3 by implementing appropriate security mechanism

Areas of Responsibility (AOR) Success Indicators

1. Maximize SAP R/3 availability to support business decisions.

2. Ensure SAP system is configured to manage changes

3. Ensure obsolete data is archived to meet the performance levels as agreed in SLA.

4. Ensure data centre is equipped with sufficient non-IT controls to meet availability levels agreed in SLA

5. Develop standards, procedures and audit controls for the SAP environment to standardise SAP system configuration

6. Ensure Audit Information System is maintained as per the procedure to audit and review of the changes.

7. Report security incidents as per the Information Security Incident Management procedure.

1. 99.5% availability of SAP and Operating system
2. 100% changes are through transports
3. Only 2 years data is available live database and all history is archived.
4. Datacentre temperature is below 22 deg Celcius.
5. Adhere to SAP standards and procedures
6. Comply with internal audit procedures
7. Adhere to information security policy and procedures.

Activities:

- Monitoring all servers and ensure they are performing optimally

- Implementing Application and Operating Patches, Packages and Notes as needed

- Monitoring the system logs and messages and take necessary preventive and corrective actions

Job Skills Qualifications:

Essential

Graduate degree with post-graduate technical certifications in atleast two of the following areas:

1. Alpha Server Architecture

2. Advanced Unix Tru64 Administration

3. SAP Basis Certification

4. Oracle Certified Database Administrator (OCP)

Desirable

- Project and Task Management

- Certification from ITIL or any equivalent IT Service Delivery

Experience

5+ years of in-dept experience in two of the following areas:

- Alpha Server architecture, Systems Administration and troubleshooting of Alpha Servers

- Unix Tru64 Administration in clustured environment

- SAP Basis Administration

- Oracle Database Management

Desirable responsibilities (Generic Description)

- Familiarity with ITIL methodologies

- ABAP Programming

- Exposure to Networking and Infrastructure service management
