Project Description:

"Bechtel is currently bidding for The New Murabba Project Infrastructure" which will be built around the concept of sustainability, featuring green areas and walking and cycling paths that will enhance the quality of life by promoting healthy, active lifestyles and community activities. It will also feature an iconic museum, a technology and design university, a multipurpose immersive theater, and more than 80 entertainment and culture venues.


The project will be situated at the intersection of King Salman and King Khalid roads to the North West of Riyadh, over an area of 19 square kilometers, to accommodate hundreds of thousands of residents.

The project will offer more than 25 million sqm of floor area, featuring more than 104,000 residential units, 9,000 hotel rooms, and more than 980,000 sqm of retail space, as well as 1.4 million sqm of office space, 620,000 sqm of leisure assets, and 1.8 million sqm of space dedicated to community facilities.


The New Murabba project will offer a unique living, working and entertainment experience within a 15-minute walking radius and will have its own internal transport system.

***: Senior Interface Coordinator position will be responsible for interface activities within the Engineering discipline for the New Murabba Project. Working with a multi-disciplinary team including Bechtel and delivery team of the client's design consultants and subsequent contractors in accordance with the requirements of the client for building the project infrastructure. Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of technical standards including the development of novel concepts and approaches when required, bringing lessons learnt from other relevant projects and value engineering. Responsible for working with the various disciplines/functions and stakeholders on technical matters pertaining to the design and construction of the associated infrastructure.

Working location will be a single status assignment at Bechtel/project office.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manages the interfaces for all engineering, procurement, and construction interfaces (external & internal) associated with the design and construction of the project infrastructure.
  • Work for the integration of project goals and objectives for the Projects and ensure that the project/program is executed in accordance with the customer Engineering Department Procedures; Technical Risk Assessments are comprehensive and complete; Safety Practices are implemented; and statutory and company specific design reviews are undertaken and are in accordance with quality assurance (QA) procedures.
  • Ensures scope, design basis and objectives are defined, best practices/lessons learned reviewed, detailed work plans, schedules, budgets and procedures are established, including Execution Plan; Contract Management Plan; Change Management Plan; Plan for addressing critical crossfunctional work processes and systems, etc. Obtains concurrence by the members of the project team, functional management and the Customer.
  • Identifies quality requirements and ensures the proper processes are identified and implemented to achieve contractual quality commitments. Assesses customer perception of quality on a regular periodic basis.
  • Promotes the management concept of Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement among all members of the project team.
  • Promotes, monitors and mentors the concept of total installed cost (TIC).
