Qualifications:

  • Bachelor\Master Civil Engineering or equivalent from an internationally recognized University. Study in surveying/engineering or MRICS would be an added advantage.
  • 8+ years of related work experience including 3 years of Managerial experience are required
  • Extensive knowledge in groundwater control encompassing strategic planning, negotiating (with 1+ years forward focus)
  • Demonstrable management experience in a Construction or Engineering industry with high turnover and activity
  • Determining budgets, setting of operational procedures, client and service provider negotiations etc. (which would all be necessary in running the operations) Financially savvy and a politically astute leader
  • Ability to set clear priorities, delegate, and guide investment in people and systems

  • Keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills, which support and enable sound decision making
  • Excellent team skills with an ability to communicate and work effectively across variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Persuasive negotiating able to achieve consensus amongst differing opinions

Key Responsibility

  • Develop and recommend a sustainable Operations strategy (1 year timescale) to the Line Manager for the region while managing for current and future operations requirements
  • Accountable to ensure delivery of all projects post contractwin, on time, every time in a costeffective and efficient manner Act as a single point of contact for all site operation related aspects, including subcontract close out with contractors & clients
  • Participate and facilitate in closing contracts in the organization's favour by providing technical, engineering, and practical judgment during initiation & throughout the project life cycle
  • Works closely with internal project stakeholders assigned to resolve any project risks associated with contracts, documentation & execution
  • Identify & address problems and opportunities; brings those which are appropriate to the General Manager / Line Manager; and, facilitates discussion & deliberation
  • The job holder is a focal point of contact in representing the company to clients, subcontractors, staff and third parties concerned with the projects and is responsible for maintaining a good working relationship with all parties at all levels at all times
  • Support the GM in setting budgetary controls and key performance indicators to safeguard the financial and operation health of the company
  • Assure filing of legal and regulatory documents and monitors compliance with all relevant laws and regulations to implement prescribed project standards, including QHSE standards|In consultation with the HR, GM & Line Manager, prepares a rolling manpower plan for 6 months and ensures all projects are adequately staffed and optimally utilized
  • Set direction and objectives for team members and ensure achievement of their development plans
  • Provide weekly "project status report" to the LM / GM. Review project(s) status & recommend areas of improvement & process efficiencies
  • Accountable for all material movement from delivery to collection which must be recorded only through the RM Systems
