Ernies Auto has a full-time opportunity available at our busy shop located at 526 W Grand Ave, Elmhurst, IL 60126 for an Experienced A Level Automotive Technician with 5 or more years of experience in the field. Requirements
  • Advanced knowledge and skill in passenger automobiles diagnostics, including using a diagnostic tree and testing procedures to identify and fix a customer's issues.
  • Proficiency in mechanical repairs and services for passenger automobiles, involving parts removal and reinstallation, as well as service procedures.
  • Ability to conduct thorough inspections of passenger automobiles to identify necessary services and repairs based on mileage and condition.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English, including hand-written and typed forms.
  • Competence in using computers and diagnostic tools for vehicle diagnostics, repair instruction lookup, and Customer Management.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Automotive Technician or relevant training, with a preference for at least 4 current state certifications or equivalent ASE certifications.
  • Willingness to obtain ASE certifications and progress towards becoming a Master ASE Technician.
  • Valid US Driver's License, insurability on the Company's insurance policy, and the ability to drive passengers and conduct drivability tests.
  • Possession of a complete set of updated tools required for repairs.
