JOB PURPOSE


BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia.

We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The Egress Systems Technician is responsible for the fitment, removal, inspection and maintenance of Egress Systems.

They will ensure that all resources are available and serviceable to support the demands of the flying operation, thus ensuring delivery of serviceable aircraft to accomplish the contractual operational and flying commitments.


Ensure the procedural compliance governing Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) calibration cycles, Support Equipment maintenance cycles, and the Tool Control system.


Comply with processes that ensure all maintenance is carried out using the correct Technical Data; Instruction Manuals are verified upon the receipt of changes or revisions; and Locally Developed Publications (LDP) are devised and reviewed to maintain maintenance capability.


JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

Work Direction:

In this role the job holder will report to the following:

  • RSAF Policies and procedures
  • Egress Supervisors & Armament Superintendent
  • Maintenance Operation Centre

Decision-Making Authority:

The job jolder may be required to make decisions on the following:

  • Quality Discrepancies.
  • Time Compliance Technical Order Reviews.
  • Technical Query referrals.
  • Technical accident and incident investigation and resolution.
  • Technical Publication Deficiency Improvement Request Reviews.
  • Functional problem solving (defects, supply issues, etc).
  • Human Resources and Support.
  • Absence and attendance reporting of assigned SNTTP trainees.
  • Development and training requirements.

Planning / Organising:

The Job Holder will undertake the following activities as a minimum:

  • To work with the relevant maintenance Supervisors in conjunction with the Maintenance Control, Planning and Scheduling and Maintenance Supply Liaison Sections to produce serviceable aircraft in line with laid down servicing plans. As well as proactively looking forward to try and identify issues that could affect the scheduled maintenance plan
  • Proactively planning and implementing OJT to support the development of assigned SNTTP trainees

In order to support Vision 2030 for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to meet BAE Systems Saudisation targets, technicians shall utilise their trade knowledge and skills and act as a leader and mentor in the training and education of trainees in a multicultural environment.


RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

_Essential_

  • Hold National civilian/military equivalent and successful completion of a recognised national aircraft maintenance traineeship/apprenticeship. Or qualified to ONC with military add on. Or EASA Category B1/B2 Licence or GACA equivalent or Higher National Certificate (HNC) Level in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Equipment specific training including initial and refresher training as required by the OEM and agreed with the Directorate of M&CA. Martin Baker certification for Mk 10LH and Mk 10B Ejection seats and associated equipment.
  • Have extensive post qualification practical maintenance experience within a operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace training OR extensive experience on same equipment type OR successful completion of BAESSA apprenticeship programme.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of aircraft maintenance and engineering.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of Aircraft Safety devices and ensure staff compliance of associated processes.
  • Must hold a current driving licence.

Desirable

  • Broad Aerospace and defence company/industry knowledge.
  • Computer literacy with a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience of GOLDesp and TrilogiView systems is desirable but not essential.
  • An understanding of BAESSA engineering operating procedures
