Qualifications Required:

Minimum 16 years in drilling and workover operations or a demonstrated progression of relevant experience, of which
3 years as Rig Superintendent onboard jack up.*
  • International experience in Middle East is a plus.
  • Experience with Total, SHELL, Saipem, BP is a plus.

IWCF 4 (or similar) well control course - surface for Jack ups - mandatory.

OIM certificate/license - mandatory.

Mission

  • Take command of the offshore drilling rig (Jack Up temporary utility Barge) according to international conventions / regulations, flag state requirements and local regulations, implementing safety / environmental policy of the company.
  • Act as a safety leader of the offshore drilling rig and ensure compliance with international / local laws as well flag state, class requirements, international conventions and company policies.
  • Act as a full conversant with ISM code and or (SOLAS).
  • Act as a full conversant with MARPOL.
  • Act as OIM as defined at IMO resolution A
  • Organize drilling, well completion, work over activities in accordance with client programs, Company procedures, contractual requirements.
  • Manage the operations of the offshore rig ensure the well program is carried out in a safe, efficient and productive manner.

Tasks

  • Implement and maintain the company SMS and ensure all crew observe company policy and standing order.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out according to State, Class, Flag and client requirements including accidents reporting and dangerous occurrences.
  • Ensure adherence with programs and company plans, liaise with proper shore office department for the review of the operation manual, following of changes to equipment or standard operating procedures and reports unsafe act / conditions and other issues with implication for safe operation and navigability in compliance with company SMS.
  • Ensure that onboard training and drill programs is prepared in due time as directly by company and SOLAS / relevant requirements monitor and person embarking / disembarking the vessel and maintain personal onboard (POB) records, ensure that the crew meets the requirements as per safe manning document issued by the flag administration and STCW Code.
  • Maintain appropriate log and certifications in accordance with State, Class, Flag, ISM, ISPS, MLC2006, SOLAS, MARPOL, relevant statutory and client requirements.
  • Be safety minded during all works and behaviours, using compulsory protective equipment and ensure the same for subordinates.
  • Actively participate to HSE inspections / audits on the rig site.
  • Call for case investigations in case of serious incidents.
  • Be responsible for ensuring correct rigging / lifting equipment certification management / traceability is performed in line with applicable requirements.
  • Ensure that all documents of SMS are constantly kept dates and take actions in order to ensure that actual requirements are maintained at all times.
  • Verify proper housekeeping is maintained on the rid site.
  • Monitor that the personnel assigned on drilling project has sufficient competences and notify the training needs.
  • Ensure the proper management of personnel rotation and working hour of optimization.
  • Ensure the proper management of personnel through communication, performance and skill evaluation and knowhow transfer.
  • Ensure that the non productive time of the rigs is limited up to a certain targeted level.
  • Guarantee the good execution of drilling program supplied by the client and notify timely and possible technical issues.
  • Be well informed about the established well control and drilling operational procedures through a proper knowhow and a IWCF or a IADC certification.
