HSE Specialist
Location: Riyadh, KSA
To provide a safe working environment with Zero Accidents. Maintaining & controlling daily HSE practices with regular checks of work sites, ensuring hazards are identified, precautionary measures are taken, and advising trades supervisors on HSE matters.
Actively participating in accident and incident investigations and reporting, and maintaining a central file for safety statistics of the project. Participate and carry out safety inspections and audits at all projects. Investigating near miss incidents and meeting the expectations of the client, along with advising them in Project Management to fulfill their obligations.
Preparing and providing project-specific orientation to all employees prior to their deployment to respective tasks. Administering the project safety plan with the support of Project Manager and periodically reviewing the same with the project execution team to reaffirm its adequacy and conformity to the Client and Contract Administrator's requirements.
Coordinating with the Contract Administrator on site safety activities, training programs, emergency plans, drills, and evacuation procedures. Initiating training of personnel on the proper use of fire extinguishers, rescue apparatus like breathing apparatus, and other safety devices; preparing and submitting necessary reports relative to the project safety status or any report required by the Contract Administrator.
Participating in weekly progress meetings and coordinating with the project execution team in the conduct of weekly toolbox meetings with craftsmen. Coordinating or assisting other subcontractors to ensure their compliance to meet the specific safety requirements.
Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in engineering or science or equivalent.
Experience: 10 years field experience as a Health, Safety, and Environment officer.
Skills: Ability to communicate with all nationalities. Professional OHS qualification by examination (NEBOSH Diploma or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety from an accredited institution). Ability to communicate well with all nationalities.
