Principal Accountabilities:

  • Installs, modifies, repairs, and operates refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation and related control systems and equipment.
  • Performs installation tasks involving assembling, testing, calibrating, and adjusting control systemsfor prime movers and dual equipment cooling installations and specialized refrigeration. Diagnoses and isolates unusual malfunctions to individual system components.
  • Uses special pressure, temperature, and analysis test equipment to determine efficiency andeffectiveness of refrigeration cooling.
  • Adjusts, calibrates and aligns components for optimum operating efficiency within designlimitations.
  • Installs, modifies, repairs, and operates plant systems, and equipment according to applicableTechnical Publications and directives.
  • Inspects refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation and related control systems and equipment. Inspects completed or in progress work for compliance with standard operating procedures, safety standards, and technical publications.
  • Prepares and completes documentation including Work Orders, USAF Supply and Amentum formsand updates Maximo.
  • Prepares assets/equipment for air/sea/road haul shipments in accordance with Technical Orders,Manuals, Checklists, Regulations, Maintenance Action Sheets, and UTC Configuration listings.
  • Performs servicing and/or maintenance of in-use assets as required.
  • Conforms to Amentum/USAF safety, hazardous material and quality standards.
  • Ensures all tools, personal protective equipment and clothing issued remain safe, secure andserviceable reporting any deficiencies.
  • Operates Mechanical Handling Equipment as required.
  • Performs other tasks and duties as directed by Amentum/ USAF tasking.
  • May be required to assist in other departments when directed or requested to accomplish a specifictask or project.
  • Performs Temporary Duty (TDY) within the Area of Operation as required by the USAF/Amentumtasking.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Must have organizational skills and be able to understand, speak, read and write English at abeginner level.
  • Must be able to read and understand technical data, plans/blueprints and publications pertaining torefrigeration air-conditioning systems.
  • Must possess a valid home country driver's license and ability to obtain host nation driver's license.
  • Will be required to operate material handling equipment.

Experience & Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5 years of Military or civilian experience in the field of refrigeration, heating, ventilation, airconditioning systems, combustible equipment, industrial air compressors and related equipmentitems preferred.
  • Certified refrigeration technician through a military and or civilian formal technical trainingpreferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Bear order of Battle (BOB) assets or similar Department of DefenseAgencies Contingency Systems preferred.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

  • Works in maintenance shop or warehouse environment and may be required to work outdoors forextended periods.
  • May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment.
  • Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to prescribedprocedures and as required for task being performed.
  • Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting/pushing/pulling minimum of50 lbs. and performing extensive work handling/lifting equipment.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
