Documentum Administrator

The Database Administrator is responsible for administering and maintaining all databases that store critical information required to serve the business needs of all of Al-Ghazzawi group.

• Responsible for administering the database with the aim to ensure the 24/7 availability of it in line with department strategy.
• Maintain a logical database design to understand how changes will affect physical database (e.g. amount of space, and access method).
• Perform database maintenance with mínimal downtime and configure databases for optimal performance and availability.
• Develop and implement database security schemes as well as backup and recovery plan by using alternative media to backup the database (e.g. on Tape, External/Alternate Hard drive, DVD-R's).
• Create and remove database accounts, maintaining system security and monitoring user access to databases.
• Specify user access level for each segment of one or more data items (such as insert, replace, retrieve, or delete data).
• Comply with security policies and all patches and upgrade procedures to ensure the upkeep of the database.
• Conduct troubleshooting for database and test new releases of database versions and patches.
• Develop and employ standard practices and tools for database management.
• Run special programming queries/statements on database and review code for efficiency.
• Perform cloning depending on the requirement.
• Provide flexibility for 24 hour oncall support for database related problems.
