As a Golang Platform team, the Test Platform team provides common libraries and tools used by QA engineers in product teams.

These tools include parts of the common CI pipeline for integration and e2e testing, libraries for generating tests, mocks, and libraries for integration with the test reporting system.


As in the rest of the backend teams, Test Engineers write code in Golang to be as close as possible to backenders.


The Test platform not only implements common libraries for testing but also creates and supports infrastructure for test engineering like test reporting systems.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement.
  • Support services before they go live through activities such as system design, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
  • Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
  • Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation; evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
  • Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.

MIN REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field.
  • Experience programming in one or more of the following: C, C++, Java, Python, Go, etc.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems internals (e.g. filesystems, system calls), and with networking (e.g. routing, ESDN) or cloud systems.
  • Experience analyzing and troubleshooting systems
  • Make an impact from design phase, through development and operation of Kubernetes cluster and its ecosystem on Google Cloud
  • Expertise in developing, operating and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters and/or other highly available systems at scale
  • Experience with Cloud Infrastructure (Google Cloud preferred)
  • Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings / nights on occasion
  • Exposure to writing SQL scripts preferred
  • Experience designing largescale distributed systems.
  • Experience designing and developing software oriented towards systems or network automation.
  • Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks.
  • Systematic problemsolving approach, coupled with effective communication skills and a sense of drive.
  • Exposure to automation using PowerShell and/or MS System Center preferred
  • Exposure to Service API's

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of software development experience
  • 4 years of experience developing test automation in Ruby, Python, or GO.
  • Experience with one of the following: Automation Frameworks/Testing, Integration Testing, Continuous Integration, or Test Design.
  • You are comfortable with Seleniumbased test automation tools.
