An opportunity has arisen for a high-caliber Buyer II to maintain the supplier list and provide necessary back-order reports on stock purchased weekly or as needed. Minimum Requirements

• Matric
• Diploma in Purchasing is advantageous
• Valid Driver's License and own reliable transport
• Computer literacy, preferably advanced Excel skills
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and multitask
• Capability to work unsupervised and meet set deadlines
• Ability to take direction and issue reasonable instructions
• Good negotiation skills
• Meticulous
• Self-motivated and ambitious
• Professional demeanor

Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure the most cost-effective methods for acquiring goods necessary for the smooth functioning of Unitrans's business
• Provide necessary back-order reports on stock purchased weekly or as needed
• Maintain the Asset Register for the company on a day-to-day basis
• Review purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness
• Capture all Purchase Orders into the electronic system
• Seek new suppliers based on best price, quality, availability, reliability, and technical support
• Regularly review preferred suppliers and seek better products/suppliers
• Follow up on orders placed with suppliers
• Keep track of all suppliers' BEE ratings and scorecards
• Track market conditions and price trends
• Maintain the suppliers list
• Be responsible for receiving all goods ordered
• Ensure all items are received on time and in good condition
• Assist the Procurement Manager as necessary
• Assist in the Finance department with day-to-day administrative functions when required
