  • Accountability to the Chief of Ophthalmology for all his professional and medical staff administrative activities.

  • Ophthalmic Unit, with the rendering of regular reports on each member, at least at the time of employment, contract renewal or reappointment.
  • Recommending to the Chief of Ophthalmology, the criteria for the granting of privileges in his/her Ophthalmic Unit.
  • Assuring that a regular review and evaluation of the quality and appropriateness of patient care rendered within his/her Ophthalmic Unit is carried out through designated mechanisms.
  • Assuring the participation of his/her Ophthalmic Unit members in continuing education programs and required meetings.
  • Assures appropriate quality assurance standards for the practice of medical care and the carrying on of clinical research in the hospital and clinics in conjunction with appropriate administrative personnel and other members of the medical staff.
  • Shall monitor compliance with the Bylaws, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff, which defines areas of responsibilities.
  • Assists the Medical Director and Hospital Administrator in determining medical equipment and program needs.
Skills
  • FRCS or PhD in Ophthalmology from an accredited medical institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of Experience after highest educational degree.
  • Must be fully licensed without restriction in the state or country of origin. Conversant with the standards of CBAHI & JCI Standards.
