Job Description:

The Senior Manager - Contract & Claims plays a crucial role in supporting the Contracts and Commercial Director with the strategic oversight of all contractual and commercial aspects of the project. This position is vital in ensuring adherence to contracts, enhancing project efficiency, and safeguarding profitability. Responsibilities include assisting in devising and executing contract management strategies, contributing to negotiations, and monitoring contractors' compliance with contractual obligations.

Furthermore, this role places significant emphasis on managing claims raised by project parties. The individual is tasked with comprehending the contractual basis of claims and providing guidance to the Client and Project Director on either resolving or submitting a claim. Leading a team focused on contract administration, the Senior Manager for Contract & Claims adeptly manages potential claims to align with the client's interests.

This position necessitates a profound grasp of contract law, strong negotiation abilities, and the capacity to cultivate robust stakeholder relationships. Reporting to the Contract/Commercial Director, the Contract & Claims Manager ensures project compliance with legal and regulatory standards, applying optimal practices in contract management to uphold the project's commercial soundness.

Key Skills Needed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Construction Management, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 20 years' experience in commercial contracts management, claims management, or related fields, with a focus on construction projects and at least 5 years of experience in GCC (preferably KSA experience).
  • Comprehensive understanding of contract law principles, commercial contracts administration, and claims resolution procedures, including experience in drafting, negotiating, and interpreting contracts and legal documents.
  • Demonstrated track record of effectively overseeing commercial contracts and resolving claims in large-scale construction projects, particularly in the context of PMO/PMC large projects.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal abilities, with proficiency in engaging with clients, stakeholders, and project teams across all levels.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to assess intricate contractual matters, evaluate risks, and devise innovative solutions to mitigate risks and settle disputes.
  • Certification in contracts management
