JOB PURPOSE

Provide engineering and technical support for process control-related project, APC and lead the integration of process automation with process improvement project that

guarantees optimal operations.

JOB KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Maintain APC applications and develop applications that monitors key process variables to ensure operational effectiveness.

• Optimize and improve Yanpet process units to provide best-in class performance, including safety, sustainability, reliability and profitability, through enhancing DCS controls and DCS operator interface effectiveness.

• Develop and implement plans to achieve operating excellence through DCS control applications

• Facilitate operating envelope (OE) improvement of unit performance through alignment between alarm management and the applications controlling the OE.

• Collaborate with other disciplines within the teamwork frame to originate, implement and support innovative process control solutions.

• Participate in class C and D incidents investigations and close or mitigate risk level 3,4 and Do items RAI.

• DCS Systems service onsoftware (preventive and/or corrective maintenance).

• DCS Systems Maintenance of database integrity (e.g., back-up, archiving, Health check

• DCS Systems changes: Manage & formally document all changes.

• Attend all MOC/HAZOP meetings related to DCS Systems.

• Coordinate or Support for any DCS project related

• Ensure implementation of 15-years life cycle plan for DCS, considering plant shutdown and turnaround periods.

• Participate as a member of Project-Development-Team, and contribute in shaping the projects

• Review E&PM standards related to DCS Systems, and insure that SABIC standards are in line with them.

• Investigate and answer eSHEMS raised against DCS Systems.

• Maintain / Monitor Alarm-Management-System (AMS), Operator-Training-Simulator (OTS) Stations, Operating Envelope (OE) and APC.

• Interface effectively with other departments, vendors, manufacturers and similar plants in industry to adopt the latest trended technologies.

• Make significant contribution to improve plant / equipment performance, as required.

• Cost stewardship.

• Prepare Idea-Initiation Forms, Conceptual-Design-Packages (CDP), Job-Scope documents etc. for Capital-Budget-Proposal (CBP) approvals for DCS Systems.

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Control and Instrumentation Systems Engineering (CISE)

• Seven (7) years' experience in related engineering field.

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS REQIREMENTS

• Very Good knowledge in English

• MS office Knowledge

Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work (e.g. Monday – Friday)] during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
