Role Purpose

The Director Data Solution Architect in the healthcare industry, is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing data architecture and solutions within a healthcare organization. This position requires a person to lead the strategic design and implementation of data solutions that empower the organization to leverage data-driven insights, enhance patient care, and drive operational excellence. You will play a critical role in shaping the organization's data architecture, ensuring the seamless flow of information across various departments and systems. This position requires a strong background in data management, analytics, and technology, coupled with in-depth knowledge of healthcare systems, regulations, and patient care practices. The Director Data Solution Architect collaborates with cross-functional teams, leads a team of data professionals, and works closely with stakeholders to develop and implement data solutions that support the organization's data-driven initiatives and improve patient outcomes while maintaining robust data solutions that align with healthcare best practices and compliance standards.

Data Strategy and Advisory

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy and architecture framework aligned with the organization's goals and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data requirements, define data models, and establish data governance and data management processes.
  • Drive the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and interoperable data solutions that support healthcare analytics, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Driving transformational value through cutting-edge applications of Bigdata, AI and Machine Learning tools that are fully scaled into clinical decision support use cases.
  • Focusing on computational biology and Medicine, drive change through influence, negotiation, and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with different NEOM sectors and Health departments to optimize AI-Based clinical trial, study designs and programs.
  • Lead the development and implementation of data solutions, including data integration, data warehousing, data lakes, analytics platforms, and reporting tools.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, tools, and frameworks to support data solution development and ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, etc.).
  • Oversee the design and implementation of data pipelines, data transformation processes, and data quality measures to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of healthcare data.

Relationship, Stakeholder and Business Management

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of data architects, analysts, and engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Assign responsibilities, set performance expectations, and conduct regular performance evaluations for team members.
  • Collate stakeholders' feedback on issues, challenges and unmet requirements and develop action plans.
  • Ensure management is kept abreast of related developments, risks arising and progress.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, including clinicians, administrators, researchers, and executives, to understand their data needs, priorities, and challenges.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, presenting data solutions, recommendations, and insights in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on data architecture, analytics, and technology trends, providing guidance and thought leadership to drive data-driven decision-making in the healthcare organization.

Data Governance and Compliance

  • Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data consistency, accessibility, and security across the organization.
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and privacy teams to ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations, data protection laws, and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular audits, data risk assessments, and data privacy impact assessments to identify and mitigate data-related risks and vulnerabilities.

Implementation Planning and Risk Management

  • Work with divisions to monitor status (incl. progress, risks, and challenges), provide regular updates to management and complete related reporting.
  • Prepare reports for digital health director and sector head on the current and forecasted progress/completion of key assets and initiatives, with executive levels insights on key assets, requirements, and risks.
  • Proactively identify risks for the sector (incl. Strategic, environmental, operational, reputational, etc.), assist in managing the respective registers and reporting, as well as working with leadership and management in the development of mitigation or management plans.

Qualifications / Requirements

 Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • 10 – 12 + years' experience within Big Data, Data Science / AI / Machine Learning in Healthcare and or Life science field
  • Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in data management, analytics, and technology, with a focus on healthcare industry solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of data architecture principles, data modeling, data integration, and data governance in a healthcare setting.
  • In-depth understanding of healthcare systems, patient care practices, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, etc.).
  • Proven experience in leading and managing data solution development projects, including data warehousing, analytics platforms, and reporting tools.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse group of data professionals.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities, with a focus on delivering scalable and innovative data solutions.
  • Solid understanding of data privacy, security, and compliance requirements in the healthcare industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in data management tools, data visualization tools, and programming languages commonly used in healthcare data solutions (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau, etc.).
  • Experience in Knowledge Graph, ontology modelling, and semantic interoperability.
  • Experience in healthcare industry/Clinical/EHR is a MUST

Education and Certifications

  • Master's degree in computer science, PhD. would be an asset, or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical or scientific field, or equivalent relevant work experience.8-10 years in Clinical, pharmaceutical or biotechnology field.
