NEOM is a bold and audacious dream, a vision of a new future where entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainable living will thrive. NEOM's legal department will help achieve this ambitious mission by providing exceptional legal support to NEOM, the Kingdom and other NEOM stakeholders.

We require a registered lawyer with at least three years of post-qualification experience who will represent NEOM values and protect its interests by providing legal support in areas such as project financings, corporate financings, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, various forms of investments and other transactions. The role, which will be based on the ground at NEOM, requires all manner of legal expertise, including technical drafting and structuring skills, and the successful candidate will be expected to broaden the skills that our agile and growing team can offer. Leadership and relationship management skills are also essential for the role.

Key Accountabilities & Activities

 Legal Support

  • Support the Transactions (Finance) Team in the Legal Department on a variety of transactional matters and financing arrangements.
  • Review contracts and policies and provide related legal advice to internal stakeholders.
  • Draft agreements and ancillary documents and negotiate them with external stakeholders.
  • Assist and support others within the legal department by providing advice, training and guidance relating to your areas of expertise.
  • Work efficiently with outside counsel, proactively liaising among them and various stakeholders to add value.
  • Be a multi-tasker who can handle multiple legal workstreams and consistently meet deadlines in a demanding environment.
  • Provide additional services and advice as needed.

Background, Skills & Qualifications

 Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Experience working as a lawyer in a prominent role on commercial transactions, including project, corporate and other financings.
  • Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and critical thinking/analytical skills.
  • A team player who takes a collaborative approach to working with both team members and counterparties.
  • Strong understanding of business needs and ability to take a commercial/practical approach.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Flexibility, creativity and ability to adapt to changing needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working on energy projects, construction projects and joint ventures a plus.

Qualifications

  • Relevant technical expertise and law firm or in-house experience in similar role.
  • 3-4+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • Registered to practice law in any jurisdiction.
  • Willingness to be based in NEOM Community.
  • Desire to learn and practice in new legal disciplines to provide comprehensive business support.
  • Fluency in English or fluency in Arabic and strong English skills.
