Egress Systems Maintenance Technician

JOB PURPOSE

BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

This role is responsible for performing and scheduling inspections, maintenance and unscheduled rectification of Aircraft Equipment and associated components, Bay support, and activities for the MBES & PC21 Egress Systems. To provide On the Job Training (OJT) function and Production Inspections. Troubleshoots, inspects, removes - installs, repairs, and operates all Egress components and associated support and test equipment.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. To provide operationally capable aircraft in support of KFAA pilot training programmes through carrying out aircraft servicing, fault troubleshooting/rectification, modifications, inspections/evaluations of aircraft systems/components and other related aircraft systems within the egress specialty at the Intermediate level maintenance of PC21 aircraft.
  2. To provide technical specialty in support of the KFAA mission statement and aircraft servicing schedules through carrying out workshop support maintenance servicing, fault troubleshooting/rectification, modifications, inspections/evaluations of components/test/support equipment at the Intermediate level maintenance of PC21 aircraft.
  3. To provide technical specialty support in the evaluation, interpretation, determinations of requisite corrective actions, performance and operational status of specialty specific aircraft systems, components, test-support equipment at the Intermediate level maintenance of PC21 aircraft.
  4. Be able to achieve and maintain Production Inspections signatory capability for authorised specific trade certifications. To obtain and maintain certifications so as to support specialty and aircraft maintenance functions.
  5. To provide informal and formal On the Job Training (OJT) for all personnel to enable either RSAF or civilian Saudisation of PC21 Intermediate Maintenance operations.
  6. Able to acquire user expertise and become conversant with the RSAF aircraft data management and tracking computer system – AUTO LOG, MIRO Gold.
  7. Able to understand and comply with the RSAF Safety and Foreign Object Programme.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

  1. Qualifications: National civilian/military equivalent recognised aircraft maintenance traineeship/apprenticeship.
  2. Completion of Egress/Armament Maintenance course and Explosive handling course.
  3. Have extensive proven post qualification practical maintenance experience within operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR extensive experience on same aircraft type OR successful completion of BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/TSNTTP).
  4. Must have an understanding and application of human factors, error management, health & safety and proactive hazard analysis, appropriate to the role.
  5. Must hold a current driving licence.
  6. Computer literate with an understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  7. A sound understanding of the RSAF 4-1-7166 series and supporting technical publications applicable to their work area.
  8. An understanding of the RSAF Operation and working practices.
  9. Working knowledge of Q-pulse, DMS and an understanding of M&CA processes.

RECRUITMENT

  1. Knowledge of relevant parts of the MOE and procedures.
  2. Ability to confirm full accomplishment of maintenance tasks.
  3. Use, control, be familiar with required tooling and equipment.
