Purpose of the Role:

To establish, monitor, and continuously improve cost accounting systems for Kinza's manufacturing operations, logistics, and distribution centres. The Cost Accountant will ensure accurate product costing, support decision-making, identify cost-saving opportunities, and enhance profitability through deep financial insight across the entire value chain — from raw materials to customer delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Product Costing (Factory)

  1. Develop and maintain standard cost models for all SKUs across different production lines.
  2. Analyse bill of materials (BOMs) and ensure accuracy of ingredients, packaging, labour, and overhead allocations.
  3. Monitor variances (standard vs. actual costs), investigate deviations, and present monthly cost variance reports.
  4. Calculate cost per case, cost per batch, and cost per flavour/format, enabling margin analysis.
  5. Support SAP S/4HANA configuration for cost centres, cost elements, and product costing modules.

B. Logistics & Distribution Costing

  1. Work closely with the Supply Chain team to capture inbound and outbound logistics costs (e.g. raw materials, packaging, finished goods).
  2. Evaluate distribution cost per case per route, including fuel, fleet maintenance, driver wages, and loading times.
  3. Analyse warehouse/DC costs including rent, labour, utilities, equipment, and indirect expenses.
  4. Develop costing models for 3PL usage and internal fleet utilisation.
  5. Work with the trading sister company to reconcile distribution costs and ensure transparent intercompany pricing.

C. Export & Franchise Costing

  1. Assist in determining transfer prices for concentrate sales to franchisees and export markets.
  2. Include customs duties, freight, and taxes in landed cost calculations.
  3. Support feasibility studies for new markets or joint ventures through cost-benefit analysis.

D. Financial Planning & Analysis Support

  1. Provide accurate cost data for budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
  2. Contribute to product pricing decisions with margin analysis for local and export markets.
  3. Partner with the Commercial and R&D teams to evaluate the cost impact of new product launches.

E. Continuous Improvement & Control

  1. Recommend and help implement cost control measures across operations and distribution.
  2. Support Lean and Kaizen initiatives to reduce waste and improve process efficiency.
  3. Ensure proper internal controls are in place for inventory movements, scrap reporting, and factory expenses.

F. Reporting & Compliance

  1. Prepare monthly cost accounting reports for management, including cost-to-serve analysis per customer segment.
  2. Participate in audits and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory standards (IFRS, SFDA if applicable).
  3. Coordinate with internal and external auditors as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Industrial Engineering.
  2. Professional certification preferred: CMA, CPA, or ACCA.
  3. Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing and/or FMCG sectors.
  4. Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA (CO module) is a significant advantage.
  5. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, Power BI is a plus.
  6. Good command of both English and Arabic (written and spoken).
