Conducts system analysis, development, and routine maintenance of existing computer programs.

Ensures operation of equipment by following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

Conducts trial runs of programs and software applications to ensure these will produce the desired information and that the instructions are correct.

Performs or directly revises, repairs, or expands the existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.

Ability to debug problems caused by hardware, operating systems software, application programs, or network failures.

Corrects errors by making appropriate changes and then rechecking the program to ensure that the desired results are produced.

Collaborates with computer manufacturers and other users to develop new programming methods.

Provides technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new IT software projects and initiatives to support and enhance existing Microsoft-based systems.

Retrieves and backs up data as required.

Maintains paper and electronic filing system of records, correspondence, and other materials.

Develops and spreads awareness of user references.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.

Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing standards for FCMS.

Ensures a high level of IT system security and anticipates possible threats, initiating proactive steps to mitigate the risks.

Other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility and requirements of the job as assigned by the college dean.
