Job Overview

Retal Group is seeking an experienced Architectural Technical Manager to join BCC in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. This senior leadership position is intended for an architectural professional with more than 20 years of experience, preferably gained with a major contracting company. The successful candidate will lead the Architectural Technical Department and oversee technical deliverables, drawing coordination, compliance, and architectural execution requirements.

The role requires extensive knowledge of Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings, shop drawings, and as-built documentation, alongside a strong understanding of the Saudi Building Code (SBC), applicable Saudi standards, and authority requirements. The Architectural Technical Manager will coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure technical consistency and compliance throughout project delivery.

When assigned, the selected candidate may also act as Project Manager, taking responsibility for overall project management and coordinating all project disciplines. Strong leadership, communication, technical problem-solving, and multidisciplinary coordination capabilities are essential. A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Architectural Technical Department.
• Oversee the preparation, review, and coordination of architectural technical deliverables.
• Review and coordinate IFC drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings.
• Ensure architectural documentation complies with project specifications, the Saudi Building Code, applicable Saudi standards, and authority requirements.
• Coordinate architectural work with structural, mechanical, electrical, and other project disciplines.
• Resolve technical issues and coordinate solutions with design consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Maintain technical quality, documentation accuracy, and compliance throughout project execution.
• When assigned as Project Manager, oversee overall project activities and coordinate all disciplines.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams.
• Support effective communication between the technical department and project management teams.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of 20+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Architectural technical management experience, preferably with a major contracting company.
• Strong experience in IFC drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC), relevant Saudi codes, standards, and authority requirements.
• Strong multidisciplinary coordination and team leadership skills.
• Ability to manage technical deliverables and resolve complex project issues.
• Experience coordinating multiple project disciplines and stakeholders.
• PMP certification is preferred.
• Must meet the stated visa transfer requirement.
• Availability with a maximum one-month notice period is required.
