Nephrology Consultant

JOB DUTIES STATEMENTS:

Duties And Responsibilities

1. Performs clinical duties as per his/her assigned clinical privileges.
2. Assesses his/her patients thoroughly (e.g., clinical, socioeconomic, psychological, and functional assessments) as per DSFH policies.
3. Documents patients' assessment in patients' medical records.
4. Develops a plan of care for patients using an evidence-based approach and following standards of care, and documents the plan of care in patients' medical records as per DSFH policies.
5. Ensures that patients' plan of care is implemented in a timely manner.
6. Becomes the most responsible physician (MRP) for inpatients admitted under his/her name.
7. For inpatients admitted under his/her name, develops a discharge plan on the day of admission and involves discharge planning service as early as possible if warranted.
8. Assesses inpatients admitted under his/her name at least once daily and ensures documentation of daily assessment and plan of care in daily progress notes using SOAP format and as per DSFH policies.
9. Responds to medical consultations in a timely manner and as per DSFH policies.
10. Documents medical interventions performed on patients in a timely manner and as per DSFH policies.
11. Responsible for timely completion and authentication of discharge summaries for patients admitted under his/her name.
12. Ensures that indicated discharge instructions and education on take-home medications are provided prior to patient discharge.
13. Conducts education for patients and their families and engages them in the plan of care.
14. Documents education provided in patients' medical records.
15. Attends to hospital duties and responds to calls from the hospital as per departmental/section call schedule.
16. Attends departmental and general staff meetings and contributes ideas for improving efficiency, productivity, and patient satisfaction.
17. Responsible for writing medical reports for his/her patients as per DSFH policies.
18. Contributes to teaching rounds and teaching activities as requested by the chairperson of the medical department.
19. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
20. Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices and represents DSFH in a positive and professional manner in the community.
21. Other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility and requirements of the job.
22. Demonstrates compassionate communication skills while providing support and care to the patients as "the patient is the center of our care."

Other Job Functions:

1. Performs all duties and tasks in line with the Person Centered Care values.
2. Adheres to all policies, plans, and programs within Fakeeh Care.
3. Performs duties as per the code of conduct requirement and ethical standards as outlined in the HCM policies and guidelines.
4. Completes mandatory education as per the requirement at least one month prior to expiration.
5. Maintains up-to-date knowledge on information relating to quality and safety, accreditation, policy management, and document management systems.

Qualifications

1. Completion of structured training in the field of specialty or subspecialty in a recognized medical center and obtaining the highest clinical degree in that field of specialty that can be granted by that medical center.
2. Completion of experience according to the Saudi Commission for Health Specialty (as mentioned in education) within the field of specialty in recognized medical centers.
3. Saudi Commission for Health Specialty and Ministry of Health Saudi License is required.
