Stafford Lawrence is engaged on behalf of a PMO client to recruit an MRICS Contracts and Claims manager for a full-time permanent position on a project in Saudi Arabia, KSA. Our client is a well-known Project and Construction management Consultancy with several great projects in Saudi Arabia, KSA. Our client has been in the region for over 20 years.
Please note that MRICS is a requirement for this vacancy and ALL the other requirements. This position would suit a candidate who has a strong history of overseeing the contractor as well as the supervision consultants. A candidate who has exceptional client liaison skills as well as a great deal of flexibility and patience. Ability to engage with and assist the project's Cost Consultant, the Contractor's Commercial Manager and Procurement Manager; and the Construction Supervision Consultant, in a decisive but patient manner. This vacancy is heavily Post-Contract, issuing Engineer's Instructions and Variation Orders dealing with Contractor Change Requests and Contractor Claims.
Requirements for the Contracts and Claims Manager Job VacancyThis position requires MRICS. A Chartered Member of MRICS is a requirement. Please only apply to this vacancy if you are a fully Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Quantity Surveyors as we cannot accept candidates without this. We cannot accept AssocRICS candidates who are currently pursuing APC.
Please Note: ALL of the following requirements MUST be met:
- A minimum of 10-12 years post-degree experience in post-contract/construction delivery, claims and commercial management.
- MRICS Chartered Status.
- A degree qualification in a Construction-related subject, this must be a 3 or 4 year degree BSc from a recognised University.
- Previous experience in the Middle East GCC countries (circa 5 years) as a Contracts/Commercial Manager.
- Experience with a PMO or International Consultancy organisation (circa no less than 5 years).
- Solid knowledge of FIDIC White Book 2017 Consultancy services agreements in addition to FIDIC Red Book 1999 and the ability to apply to Contract Administration of Construction projects.
- In addition, you must hold MRICS Chartered Status or MCIArb; if you also have LLM this would be an additional bonus.
- Project Experience for this position: Commercial / Mixed Use/ Office Developments/ Business Parks.
- Experience of site (office) based working, walking the site to gauge progress.
- Conversant with Aconex, SharePoint and the Microsoft Office Suite of software.
- Fluent English language skills are also a requirement.
- Evaluate Contractor claims, and provide guidance.
- Work with the team to administer the project's Change Control Process involving the compilation and submission of CCR, Change Initiation Forms, Requests for Change, Engineer's Instructions and Variation Orders.
- Support and advise the Construction Director in the administration of the Construction Contract(s) and Consultancy Agreements.
- Monitor the cost consultant regarding contractor claims as well as to ensure Contractor Interim Payment Applications are promptly and accurately processed.
- Work alongside the Planning Manager, to monitor the Contractor's Procurement Activities in line with the Construction Schedule, with the overall aim of ensuring the availability of materials at the site, at the correct time, to support the construction activities.
- Liaise with the Employer's Cost Consultant, Contractor's Commercial Manager, Contractor's Procurement Manager and the Employer Construction Supervision Consultant.
- Undertake other Commercial, Contract and Procurement related tasks as necessary.
- Attend Commercial & Procurement Meetings and contribute to discussions. As well as to attend other meetings as required.
- Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reports and presentations.
- Recording the status of Sub-Contracts, Warranties, Insurances, Purchase Orders, Engineer's Instructions, Claims.
- Compile draft Notices, Instructions, Variation Orders, Letters and Reports, as necessary, for review and submission.
- Escalate matters of concern.
This is a full-time permanent job vacancy for a Contracts and Claims Manager- Commercial based in Riyadh, KSA.
