Job Description

We are excited to invite a meticulous and experienced professional to join our dynamic team as a Senior Payroll Specialist. In this essential role, you will oversee and optimize payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing while enhancing the efficiency of our payroll systems.

Key Responsibilities for Senior Payroll Specialist
  • Payroll Processing: Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring compliance with company policies, labor laws, and tax regulations.
  • System Optimization: Identify and implement improvements in payroll systems and processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all payroll practices are compliant with local, state, and federal regulations. Prepare and submit accurate payroll reports.
  • Audit and Review: Conduct regular audits of payroll procedures to ensure data integrity and resolve discrepancies in payroll records.
  • Employee Support: Address payroll-related inquiries from employees, providing clear explanations and resolving issues promptly.
Essential Skills and Competencies for Senior Payroll Specialist
  • Detail Orientation: Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accurate payroll processing and reporting.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in payroll software and systems, with advanced knowledge of Excel and data management tools.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret payroll data and develop insights for continuous improvement.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to identify and resolve payroll issues efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for liaising with internal teams and addressing employee concerns effectively.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience for Senior Payroll Specialist
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or similar payroll certification preferred.
  • Extensive experience in payroll management, preferably in a senior or specialized role.
  • Experience or knowledge in actuarial analysis.
  • Experience working on department budgets.
  • Thorough understanding of tax regulations and payroll compliance standards.
