Job Title: Project Manager - 380 kV Substation Construction Project (SEC Approved)

Company Introduction:

We are a leading EPC contracting company in Saudi Arabia, specializing in high voltage (HV) and extra-high voltage (EHV) substations, overhead transmission lines (OHTL), power plants, water treatment plants, water pipelines, and industrial plant projects. We are committed to delivering high-quality infrastructure projects. To lead the successful delivery of 380 kV substation construction projects, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager with expertise in high voltage substation construction.

Position Overview:

The Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of 380 kV substation construction projects across multiple locations in Saudi Arabia. This includes managing multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards, and delivering the project within scope, schedule, and budget. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience managing high voltage substation projects, particularly 380 kV systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Management:

  • Develop and implement detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure all project activities align with client specifications, technical standards, and company objectives.
  • Monitor project progress and address any deviations to maintain timelines and budgets.

Team Leadership and Coordination:

  • Lead and manage project teams, including engineers, supervisors, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration across teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Technical Oversight:

  • Oversee the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of 380 kV substations.
  • Ensure compliance with international standards, local regulations, and client specifications.
  • Review and approve technical drawings, documentation, and change requests.

Quality Assurance and Risk Management:

  • Enforce strict adherence to quality standards and conduct regular site inspections.
  • Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project performance.
  • Address technical challenges and ensure timely resolution of issues.

Budget and Cost Control:

  • Manage the project budget and ensure cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
  • Track expenses and forecast potential cost overruns, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with vendors and subcontractors.

HSE Compliance:

  • Ensure all construction activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and conduct regular safety audits and briefings.
  • Investigate and report any safety incidents, implementing measures to prevent recurrence.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Provide regular project updates to clients and stakeholders, including progress reports, risk assessments, and financial updates.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and project success.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed project presentations to senior management and stakeholders.

Testing, Commissioning, and Handover:

  • Oversee testing and commissioning activities to ensure the 380 kV substation meets operational requirements.
  • Manage the preparation of as-built documentation and ensure the final handover to the client is completed successfully.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • A Master's degree in Project Management or a relevant discipline is an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years managing 380 kV or similar high voltage substation projects.
  • Proven expertise in the construction, commissioning, and operation of high voltage substations.

Key Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of 380 kV substation systems, design, and construction methodologies.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage large-scale, complex projects.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills to engage with clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.

Preferred Certifications:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification.
  • Knowledge of international standards such as IEC and IEEE is highly preferred.
