Context

We are currently seeking a Technical Writer for a portfolio of mobility/railway projects here in Saudi Arabia. This role will support the program's key leaders in the development of communication material and organizational improvements. This role requires a deep understanding of engineering consultancy services and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and persuasive content.

Missions/Main Duties
  • Research, outline, write, and edit content, working closely with various departments to understand the program's project requirements, status, initiatives, etc.
  • Support the creation of presentations, reports, and other communication materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Write articles on major operations and projects for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with consistent voice across all documentation.
  • Review, edit, and format technical documents, contracts, manuals, and workflows to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather and incorporate feedback into written materials.
  • Perform final review/edit/proofreading prior to publication, and ensure establishment of style guides (definitions, metadata, processes, etc.) to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Gain a deep understanding of products and services, and translate complex information into simple, polished, engaging content.
  • Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience, turning insights into user success.
  • Evaluate current content and develop innovative methods for improvement.
  • Ensure all documentation adheres to company standards and industry best practices.
  • Analyze data and generate actionable insights to support project decision-making.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a comprehensive knowledge base and documentation library.
Profile/Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Five or more years of experience as an effective technical writer.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter.
  • Experience in writing documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences.
  • Professional written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and engineering disciplines. Understanding of project risk management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other presentation tools (PowerBI, InDesign, etc.).
  • Excellent command of Arabic and English (writing and editing).
  • Ability to simplify and explain complex technical information in a clear and easy-to-understand manner.
  • Good understanding of technical or engineering terminology and processes relevant to the field.
  • Good knowledge of word processing tools and document formatting programs such as MS Word and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to review texts carefully and avoid linguistic or informational errors.
