Production Team Leader

Job Description:

Principles Accountabilities:

1. Oversee the operational and non-operational activities in the factory as Emergency Manager who assesses the risks of the work, ensures all safety precautions applied and approves the start of the permit-to-work and closes them within the shift.
2. Lead the Emergency Team in handling emergency situations in the factory.
3. Lead the shift associates to deliver the agreed production schedule and achieve the agreed KPIs targets as per HSE, Q&FS and operational standards.
4. Ensure shift events are captured and reported through the agreed reporting methods.
5. Lead FMOS Pillar Connection Points (CPs) and line tours that enable the team to measure and manage the KPIs of agreed contract deliveries for safety, quality/food safety, cost, customers' service and systems related KPIs.
6. Escalate and provide clear communication of operational issues. Be the first point of contact in the shift. Ensure the right associates are aware of issues that impact performance. Ensure regular communication with VSM/Plant Manager.
7. Collaborate with other functions i.e. Quality & Food Safety, Safety, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain/Logistics, P&O and Commercial, to ensure consistent product quality, safety, productivity and reliability.
8. Promote and drive LEAN, problem solving with 5 Whys and failure root cause analysis and continuous improvement culture within the team. Support the implementation of continuous improvement activities that are impactful to safety, quality/food safety, productivity and reliability to the assigned areas.
9. Develop the shift associates by coordinating training, assignment and ownership programs. Monitor the associates' development and progress. Conduct QDDs, MPDPs and PDPs to reflect and discuss performance with focus on their development.
10. Ensure disciplinary matters are dealt with in accordance with the company policies and procedures. Manage under performances of the shift associates through individual or team coaching and initiate Performance Improvement Plan process, when required.
11. Conduct team meetings to enhance team building and engagement. Identify issues with engagement and follow up on agreed actions with the team.
12. Work closely with other Shift Team Leaders and shift team members to ensure consistent performance and standardization in practices across the shifts.
13. Work closely with VSM/Plant Manager and Technical Trainer to ensure the team has the required capability, competency and attitude to succeed in delivering the team or areas objectives.
14. Lead the execution of production systems (ATLAS, PDLS, PPM, POKA, Datalyzer, iObeya, etc…) within the shift to ensure the team's adherence to standard processes in converting the raw and packaging materials into semi-finished/finished goods as per the process orders with timely management of physical inventory, actual consumption, rework and scrap that match the data in the system within the shift. Manage system outage and exceptions according to the guidelines provided.
15. Oversee the activities of operational contractors and cleaning contractors assigned to the shift. Ensure efficient utilization of the labors to support the factory contract deliveries and their services are rightly and timely paid for.
16. Ensure compliance to Responsible Workplace standard within the shift and escalate in case of deviations.
