QHSE Manager

Job Overview

The QHSE Manager will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality ensuring a safe and compliant work environment within the printing and packaging facility. This role involves developing and maintaining Quality Management Systems (QMS), implementing process improvements, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving continuous quality enhancement initiatives and implementing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, conducting risk assessments, ensuring compliance with local and international safety regulations, and fostering a culture of safety . The Quality Manager will collaborate with production, operations, and customer service teams to meet client expectations while maintaining cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.

Quality Management System (QMS) Implementation & Compliance:

• Develop, implement, and maintain QMS in alignment with ISO, BRC, FSC, and PEFC standards.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and customer quality requirements.
• Establish and maintain documentation systems to track quality control processes, certifications, and regulatory requirements.

Process & Product Quality Control:

• Oversee quality control processes for folding carton production, including printing, finishing, and adhesives.
• Conduct inspections and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Develop and implement quality control checkpoints across different stages of production to minimize defects and ensure consistency.

Continuous Improvement & Waste Reduction:

• Drive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce defects and improve operational efficiency.
• Implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor and enhance quality.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) initiatives to identify and address recurring quality issues.

Customer & Supplier Quality Management:

• Address customer complaints and implement corrective measures.
• Ensure supplier materials meet quality specifications.
• Develop supplier quality agreements (SQA) to standardize material compliance expectations and performance metrics.

Health & Safety Compliance

• Ensure compliance with KSA labor laws, Saudi Health & Safety regulations, and GOSI (General Organization for Social Insurance) safety requirements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, SOPs, and procedures in line with ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) standards.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments, identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure emergency preparedness plans are in place, including fire drills, evacuation procedures, and first aid response.
• Investigate and report workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are implemented.

Environmental Sustainability & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) and environmental regulations related to waste disposal, emissions, and resource management.
• Monitor and manage waste disposal processes, air quality control, and chemical handling in compliance with Saudi Environmental Regulations.
• Promote sustainable practices, including energy conservation, waste reduction, and recycling initiatives within the plant.

Audit & Compliance Management:

• Lead internal and external audits for quality certification compliance.
• Maintain documentation and records for audits and certifications.
• Conduct gap assessments to proactively identify non-compliance risks and ensure audit readiness.

Key Requirements:

• Years of Experience: Minimum 7-10 years in quality management.
• Sector: Printing & Packaging industry, specifically Folding Carton Manufacturing.
• Local/International: Experience in KSA or the GCC region is preferred, with international exposure being an advantage.

Certification required:

Mandatory:

• NEBOSH IGC (International General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety)
• OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification
• First Aid & Fire Safety Certification
• Level 1 (Practitioner) Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health – Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, KSA.

Preferred:

• ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 Lead Auditor Certification
• HAZMAT Safety & Dangerous Goods Handling Certification
• Saudi Civil Defense Safety Certification
